2020.09.19 04:54 yyyyer2 TIFU by peeing on a homeless man

So, obviously before the quarantine I was in LA and I was supposed to go to this concert I was really looking forward to with my friends. But beforehand I meet up with a girl on Tinder that I've never met before, and told her to tag along to the concert cus she was nearby at that time. The tinder girl shows up to my apartment, proceeded by my friends, and we all drank a few drinks during the pregame before the concert.
Nothing weird happens.
Because we had 6-7 people, we got a Uber XL to the concert. During the car ride the girl starts to be very, very "friendly" with me, but I just shrugged it off without thinking too much - we met on tinder, afterall. I chat with her for a while and we finally get there.
We get off one by one off the big ass uber and my friends start entering the venue, but I had some technical difficulties accessing my online ticket - as my eticket had to be accessed using another app I did not know about, and the app was severely outdated.
While I was digging my way through the unclear, pixellated directions and app on my iPhone, unknowingly to me the tinder girl literally turns into a human fire hydrant and starts blasting streams of vomit everywhere. After an eternity of attempts I finally get the etickets to work, but when I turned around my eyes were confronted by squirtle herself.
I didn't think much of it tbh, so I just patted her back and waited for her to finish emptying out her insides so we can finally head in the venue and watch the concert with my friends. She explained to me why she was throwing up - she didn't really have anything to eat that day.
However, after throwing up around 5 more times, I realized that I had to take care of her and send her home.
If you're wondering how anything I've said so far relates to how I peed on a homeless man, here it goes.
My first step in mission save tinder girl, was to get her some water. I scurried tipsily to the nearest convenience store but as soon as I got in I realized my bladder was an inch away from doom. In pain, I asked the counter staff for directions to the bathroom, but was cruelly denied due to the soon closing time of the store. Clutching my bladder while running to the further Target, I was, again, cruelly denied by their closed sign.
I realized my only chance for bladder liberation was to wee in a bush. So I hurried to a random gated bush and started weeing.
"WHAT THE FUCK"
I heard a voice from far, echoing with anguish and dread.
I look around but no one was near me, so I continued weeing.
"WHAT THE FUCK"
I heard the familiar voice again, and it startled me this time because I felt something rattle against my trousers.
I look down, and I see a hand coming out of the ground, wait no, a hand coming out of a black plastic bag. Out of shock, my wee wee is unwee-d, or perhaps into another direction (i can't remember).
"WHAT THE FUCK are you doing bro"
I look down, and the hand re-emerges but this time with a bottle of cologne, spraying it on the puddle I just created on the plastic bag. It all seemed strangely routine for him.
As I gathered my senses, it all made sense now. A homeless man under a black plastic bag was right in front of me and I pissed all over him, and I didn't even stop when he started shouting at me.
Embarrassment pierced through my nerves, but was soon absent due to my drunkenness. I immediately apologized profusely to him, and out of my drunken "generosity", I gave him 50 bucks to hopefully make up for the lake I just created. I ran away, got the tinder girl water, sent her back to my place to rest, got puked on in the uber back, and ended up dating this girl for a while.
Happy story.
However, to this day I always wonder if the homeless man has gotten peed on in the past, because spraying the spot with cologne seemed like an everyday chore to him.
To the homeless person, if you're reading this, sorry :((
TL;DR: couldn't control my bladder and unknowingly peed all over a homeless man while trying to get water for a drunk girl.

2020.09.18 18:59 cakerad 22[F4M] Washington State; Relationship that would lead to marriage and family

I’d much prefer you were christian. I’ve noticed similar values and mindsets tend to pair well in relationships with similar religious beliefs. I’ll be honest I don’t even go to church that often. Mainly because of transportation issues, not that I don’t want to worship and get into the word of God, although I don’t like to make excuses if I can help it either. I have my own questions about life, religion and the bible itself. I cannot help but question the bible, although I would very much still consider myself to uphold Christian values and morals. This goes without saying for those who consider themselves Christian of course although just to be clear I do have faith in Jesus Christ.
I’d much prefer you were conservative. I’ve tried relationships where our political and social values didn’t line up and it hasn’t worked out at all and was frankly a waste of each others time. To be blunt; no liberals please and thank you.
I don’t believe in the one, I never really have. I think dating is a numbers game. And in order to find someone you’re most compatible with, you’ve got to get out there.
I consider myself realist, sometimes life hurts and people should be able to face reality and stop running from the truth.
I’m looking for someone to share an interdependent relationship with healthy emotions and a deep connection; not an intense roller coster. I want to make love a priority not a pastime.
I normally work two jobs, and of course with the quarantine I have more time than usual to do school online. I mainly consider myself an introverted homebody though I do like to go out on drives or see new places. I’m the type of person that will acquire plenty of books only to never read them but scroll through them and end up watching something on Hulu or Youtube instead. I also like cliche things like long walks on the beach, going on adventures and trying new restaurants. I like to think I’m a pretty good cook as well but you can be the judge of that.

2020.09.18 15:31 Infinity315 The case for $OLN

What does $OLN (Olin Corporation) and $VSTO do?
OLN produces chemical products, but most importantly they produce ammunition (it makes up about 10% of their business). From their website, they're the largest supplier of ammunition in the United States. They own Winchester. In addition, they're also one of the largest producers of bleach in NA; which can be used to sanitize things (hurray?). VSTO sells ammunition in addition to providing shooting ranges. However, I think VSTO is a bit overvalued rn. According to the price to book ratio, OLN is currently undervalued.
Hypothesis:
Olin and VSTO will go up in price due to fears arising from the 2020 presidential election. Trump Republicans will buy ammo and guns out of fear that the feds will take their guns if Biden wins. Especially if the protests are not quelled soon.
Supporting evidence:
1. It has been observed (supposedly) that conservatives/republicans are more fear-driven.
Source: https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/mind-in-the-machine/201612/fear-and-anxiety-drive-conservatives-political-attitudes
“Conservatives tend to focus on the negative … To many conservatives, the world may look like a much scarier place … Conservatives have a stronger physiological response to threats … Conservatives’ brains are more reactive to fear.”
2. Google trends indicate a spike in interest for ammo prior to elections.
Keep in mind this when reading the trend graphs (especially 2012):
” Numbers represent search interest relative to the highest point on the chart for the given region and time. A value of 100 is the peak popularity for the term. A value of 50 means that the term is half as popular. A score of 0 means there was not enough data for this term.” - Google
2016 : (Notice how the states with the most interest voted red? Wyoming, Alaska, West Virginia, Montana)
2012 (keep in mind this is 2012; the supposed end of the world, however, it still indicates a spike in interest at November) :
(Red states again have the most interest: Wyoming, Oklahoma, West Virginia, Alaska, Arkansas)
2008: (Regions with most interest: Wyoming, Oregon, Utah, Idaho, Montana)
3. Google trends for BLM and Antifa for the past 12 months:
Notice the majority interest is from red states and not blue states? Why would red states be more interested in what is generally regarded as Liberal or blue groups than democrats and liberals? Trump Republicans are very much scared / hate these groups.
BLM: (Regions with most interest: Wyoming, Oregon, Utah, Idaho, Montana)
Antifa (Regions with most interest: Wyoming, Oregon, Utah, Idaho, Montana)
Chaz (Regions with most interest: Wyoming, Oregon, Utah, Idaho, Washington)
4. The stock market seems to follow a similar trend with spikes around November:
2016
2012
2008
5. The rhetoric Trump and his campaign is feeding his supporters:
“President @realDonaldTrump: “The rhetoric of Biden and the Radical Left puts your law enforcement in serious danger””
https://twitter.com/TeamTrump/status/1306777755082780674
“President @realDonaldTrump: “Biden will hand the left-wing mob the keys to your kids’ classroom"”
https://twitter.com/TeamTrump/status/1306771724113981442
Trump text: https://i.redd.it/usbcfmp0mpn51.jpg (ignore the right-hand side)
Trump supporters have remained steadfast in their support for Trump. Trump has captured the loyalty of ~40% of the voting population that seems like they will never give up on him
6. Biden’s Platform:
Things that would be most concerning for pro-gun people (in my opinion)
“Require background checks for all gun sales.”
“Reduce stockpiling of weapons.”
“End the online sale of firearms and ammunition.”
7. There are concerns of ammo shortages, I suspect this will only get worse as the election comes near.
Google trends for "ammo shortage"
Google trends for "ammo in stock"
"Why not VSTO / Federal Premium Ammunition?"
Google trends indicate that Winchester ammunition occupies more headspace than Federal Premium Ammunition, however, considering that there is an expected ammo shortage, go for it.
https://trends.google.com/trends/explore?geo=US&q=Federal%20Premium%20ammo,winchester%20ammunition
My personal opinion:
Trump will likely increase the rhetoric, especially up until the very end of the election. The US is at it's greatest political divide since the civil war and the civil rights movement. This election will spark fear in both parties, potentially making some Democrats take up arms. Trump has also planted the idea that the election could be fraudulent in his supporters head's, meaning there is likely a significant portion of supporters who will stock up to "defend the constitution" or something like that. *****-----------------------------*****
Don’t skip this shit. If there is one thing you should not skip, it's this part.
*****-----------------------------*****
Should you trust me?
Full disclosure, I’m a university student in Canada. I probably know less about US politics than many Americans. I study Computer Science with a minor in Math, meaning guns, and US politics is a field I'm not 100% familiar with and am not an expert. I've never owned or shot a gun in my life and don't plan on doing so anytime in the near future. I'm pretty much completely removed from any and all gun culture. I’ve been trading for just under a 3/4 of a year now. I’m admittedly extremely inexperienced with trading and have lost a significant portion of the money I put in on stupid trades and COVID. I can only afford 2 contracts atm and my options level is not high enough for diagonals (balance is too low). Make of that what you will with this information. Don't complain if my stupidity causes you to lose money, you're choosing to listen to a stupid person.
Finally, the play (my position):
15/01/2021 $13 and $12 strikes. OLN
No positions on VSTO, the premiums are a bit much.
I look forward to a sober voice to double-check my work and ensure I'm right (or wrong). Advice is welcome.
Edit an addendum:
So I attempted to gauge the demand and the outlook for the chemical products that OLN sells. Here are my findings:
The significant drop in OLN at April correlates with the drop in demand / prices for their products in April.
PVC has gone up 35% since april, OLN produces PVC precursors
Sodium Hypochlorite prices have been flat since april
Potassium Chloride / Potash seems to be making a recovery since april
Outlook for Caustic Soda seems positive, the price has increased
The outlook for epoxy seems somewhat neutral to somewhat negative, according to ICIS
Akali Price index is slightly negative
I tried finding price charts from the same sites, but unfortunately some were too outdated or did not exist at all.
Note: I could not find the actual prices of what OLN is selling their products, but I believe that these charts could give some idea.

The last game of President Trump: Breaking the coup attempt of the Democratic Party and the enemy of the country
The closer you get to the election day (November 3), you can feel the heat from all sides surrounded the ballot box, from the Democratic Party's push to vote by mail to the application of the military to the election. or not? It can be said that President Trump is facing a lot of pitfalls of the righteous "enemy" in the heart of the country.
But as a "warrior" of difficult space, it can be said that the current decisions and statements of President Trump have pushed "the opponent" into the situation ... do not know where to go. 2020: The Democratic Party's "n" coup attempt
In February 2020, after many failed "coups" since Trump entered the White House (January 2017), Democrats and other underground State forces plotted to "oust" President Trump. out of the White House with a "farce" or "farce", and it ultimately failed miserably.
When the "tricks" are applied based on both "subjective and objective" factors such as the Wuhan virus, shutting down the economy, destroying riot, abolishing the police ... counterproductive, more precise. is a huge failure again, now the Democratic "rulers" are openly talking about staging a "coup".
Starting with statements from the US Department of Defense to quietly guide public opinion that the military will not obey the orders of the President. All of the above statements are from former generals - most of them are those who served under former President Barack Obama, and helped "spread" by Big Media to the American public. In July 2018, CNN once "revealed" that a series of generals in the Trump administration were disobeying his requests. And CNN, New York Times ... try to "illustrate" so that the American people believe that the President of the United States cannot afford to become the most powerful man in the world. (first)
CNN opened up, Defense Secretary James Mattis - then among those "disobedient" top officials - is said to have made disparaging comments on President Trump on matters related to Syria and North Korea, with the comments "Mr. Trump understands these issues at the level of an elementary school student".
US Joint Chiefs of Staff Vice Chairman John Hyten, who is responsible for America's top nuclear command, said he opposes President Trump's order on a nuclear strike if that is " illegal". As for CNBC, incumbent Defense Secretary Mark Esper opposes the introduction of the Resurrection Act - allowing President Trump to deploy US troops in active service - in response to civil unrest caused by Antifa, Black Lives Matter caused in major cities across the US in May 2020. (2) As the riots intensified by domestic terrorist groups, with the "help" of the Democratic governors run earlier in June, Defense Secretary Mark Esper declared publicly announced in the media that the President should not invoke the Resurrection Act.
The left-wing media massively released this information, simultaneously interpreting and dissecting the Secretary of Defense's message: “Mr. President, don't tell us to do it, because we won't, And he knows what will happen after that.
All these "tricks" of the left-wing media have "breathed relay" for candidate Joe Biden to confidently assert to Fox News that the military will "escort [Trump] from the White House with an official dispatch." great ”if the president refuses to leave office. And yet, former Vice President Al Gore (under the Bill Clinton administration) also publicly agreed with this view of Joe Biden. (3)
You may think that this is just a "joking" comment of a "patient" with dementia, and of a "hideout" who always offers "renaissance" campaign policies to America. from inside the basement of the house he is in.
But Democrats are not accidentally "innocent" as you think. They have a methodical strategy to "brainwash" the American people step by step before "coup", even for Mr. Joe Biden "doze" to say innocuous statements as above. Democrats are not accidentally "innocent" as you think. They have a methodical strategy to "brainwash" the American people step by step before "coup". (Getty)
It is no coincidence that the Washington Post recently (September 3) published an article titled: "What's the worst that could happen ..." The article publicly outlined a scenario, in which "Trump won," the Democrats desperate and vice versa. (4)
They purposely leaked a summer story about a meeting of about 100 Democrats who were former "anti-Trump" Republicans and other underground powers. (following the devilish trend of billionaire George Soros) together "play the lottery" - outlined different options and results in the 2020 election.
The end result is an absolute victory of the current President Trump. However, Bill Clinton's former White House Chief of Staff John Podesta (who plays Joe Biden) refused to give in, pressuring states that Trump had won the Democratic nomination for the main vote. formula of the Electoral College, and is confident that the military will take care of the rest. (5) This
deliberately "leaked" report shows that, if there is "dispute" from the post-election tally, then "technocratic solutions, courts and dependence on elites comply by standards is not the answer ”. Which it promises, what will happen after the November elections will be "a street fight, not a war of riot.
The underground powers and Democrats have outlined a bold plan to topple President Trump if he is re-elected. (Getty)
That means Big Media has "confirmed" to the American public that the possibility of post-election rioting (if President Trump is re-elected) will occur. Add two other baselines that can't be ignored.
The first data is that on August 11, Representatives Elissa Slotkin (Michigan) and Mikie Sherrill (New Jersey) wrote an open letter to General Mark Milley, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. In the letter, two Democrats urged General Mark Milley to deploy the 82nd Airborne Division to "escort" President Trump out of the Oval Office at 12:01 p.m. on January 20, 2021 for Joe Biden to "continue. The White House. (6)
The letter is the most obvious answer to the Democratic conspiracy right after candidate Joe Biden offered his "idea": If President Trump loses in the 2020 election (and if he refuses to give in ), then the Democrats may have to "ask" the military to escort him out of the White House.
The second data is that just about a month later, Hillary Clinton publicly declared that Joe Biden should not give in to the election "under any circumstances". (7) This does not sound like the "rhetoric" of a great politician, of a major political party.
All the above facts show that the Democrats are once again planning to "coup" President Donald Trump even if he wins over Joe Biden in the 2020 election.
Why Big Media and the Citizen Party Owner openly conspired "coup"?
The answer is simple, because the Deep State forces know that, for this coup "conspiracy" to succeed, it must not seem like a conspiracy. And at all times, wherever they are, they need to instill in the minds of the American people and the world public that, illegally removing President Trump from his term is partly due to the "fault" of yourself: Fascist dictator, entrenched power etc and so forth
They "brainwash" the American people not to mind Joe Biden's "extravagant" statement, that President Trump will refuse to leave the White House when he believed he had won legally. But what they want to emphasize through the "firm" statement of Hillary Clinton that: Joe Biden should not lose under any circumstances.
The focus of the Democratic Party's coup "conspiracy" is by all means to exaggerate the risk of pandemic Wuhan virus, with the help of CDC, Big Tech, Big Media, Big Pharma to stop the people. The United States voted directly, which in turn led to voting by mail. This is a form to create conditions for Democrats to cheat votes and "buy time" to count votes.
The Deep State powers know that in order for this coup "plot" to succeed, it must not act like a conspiracy.
In early September, the Hawkfish analysis firm (backed Joe Biden) announced that there was a chance that President Trump would win a landslide match on election night (November 3), but could lose. after the Democrats tally their mail ballots.
Hawkfish's director, Josh Mendelsohn, said a possible scenario when President Trump holds a 408-130 electoral ballot on election night, but has only 15% of the vote. by mail is checked. But after all the votes were counted, the company predicted Joe Biden "eventually won a big, 334-204 win."
Mr. Mendelsohn said: “When every legitimate vote is checked and we reach the last day, which is the day after Election Day, reality shows what happened on the exact election night. as such. Looks like Donald Trump took the lead, and he basically won't win when every vote counts. "
Meanwhile, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg also said that Americans have to get used to thinking that the election results may take "weeks" to be confirmed after the vote (November 3), and "status "Civil unrest is possible."
Twitter announced that they will delete any tweet declaring victory before the election results are confirmed. Meaning Twitter indirectly confirmed, the platform would prevent President Trump's supporters from challenging the legitimacy of any delay in announcing winners.
The worst case scenario will result in some states having ambiguous votes. Then a fierce dispute will happen to the point where no one can accurately declare the winner. Of course, then a whole system of Underground State behind "back", will help Democrats declare Joe Biden final victory.
America "runs out" if Joe Biden and Democrats win.
As President Trump once warned, if Joe Biden wins, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) will take over America. At the same time, many observers also found that America, under the leadership of Joe Biden, would follow a socialist model.
This should come as no surprise, given that Joe Biden has a close "history", with the CCP leaders, openly downplaying the threat from China as well as his "demographic" campaigning policies. always attaching special importance to high taxes, supporting abortion, similar to the socialist democratic model.
The dangerous thing is, if Joe Biden and the Democrats somehow "take over" the White House in this 2020 election, they will change the US Constitution and the Bill of Rights, by canceling the Second Amendment. 2 (allowing Americans the right to own guns), opening up the border so that millions of illegal immigrants enter the United States, causing job "bleeding" and chaos.
At the same time, Democrats will keep all political dissidents - true Americans - silent. Under the mighty power of the Underground State, opposition Americans, patriotic Americans, and traditional rightists will be tightly censored.
Believers, Christians will be intimidated, beaten, and even executed by domestic terrorist groups such as Antifa, Black Lives Matter, and even executed, whose law (of the Democratic Party) will protect them in a favorable way. ethnic minorities. All Christian speeches will be "criminalized", and the Bible will be outlawed.
America is embraced by Marxist left-wing ideology. The riots over the past three months in the United States have demonstrated an ever darker outlook after the election, and show that the extreme left is a frantic, authoritarian, anti-American "sect."
The radical left "nurtured" and activated by the mainstream media, launched a violent communist revolution against America's values of freedom and democracy.
Big Media, Big Tech has demonstrated dangerous lawlessness by censoring all speeches online, protesting the radical liberal's psychotic delusions. The ultimate purpose of this underworld is: Full power to rule, eliminate police and censor people with opposing views.
In the future, America is no longer a shore of Freedom, but becomes a country like the country the CCP is running: Disrespecting the law and upholding the "law of the forest". Every American election from now on will be easily manipulated, stolen, cheated, or altered with violence by leftists who hate America, and despise all Americans who love. True water.
President Trump - lonely warrior: "Quick quenching" violence
Of course, all the above actions are prevented by President Donald Trump.
The Politico newspaper reported that on September 10, President Trump threatened to "quell ... very quickly" the riots on election night (November 3), if the Democrats were dissatisfied. Street after his victory. (8)
The remarks were made in an interview with Fox News host Jeanine Pirro, in which President Trump was asked how he would react to riots if he was declared the winner. on November 3. (9)
We will take them down very quickly if they do. We have the right to do that. We have the power to do it, if we want to… "(Getty)
"We will take them down very quickly if they do," replied the President. We have the right to do that. We have the power to do it, if we want to ... Look, it's called rebellion. We just send, and we do it, very easily. I mean, it's very easy. I don't want to do it because there is no reason, but if we have to do so, we will do it and solve the problem within minutes ”.
President Trump appears to be referring to the National Emergency Act - a law dating back to 1807 - that allows the President to deploy troops in the country for enforcement in certain emergencies. In other words, President Trump is declaring that he will deploy his army to end the rebellions.
There have been many analyzes and comments after this statement of President Trump. One of them is that President Trump will introduce the Resurrection Act shortly after the election. This allows the President to invoke the executive powers of the Fourteenth Amendment, in which paragraph 3 states:
“Anyone who is a member of Congress, or an official of the United States, or a member of a state legislature, or an administrative or judicial official of any state has made a declaration. o swear to support the Constitution of the United States but participate in revolts or rebellions against the Constitution or assist or lie in enemies, cannot be a senator or a deputy in Congress, or a representative voters to elect the President and Vice President, or in charge of any civil or military agency of the United States or of a certain state. But Congress can with 2/3 votes of two-thirds of the members of each House to reject the above prohibition. (From vi.wikisource) (10)
The Fourteenth Amendment was approved in 1868, shortly after the Civil War. President Trump could use this Amendment to order the arrest of a series of traitors, while stripping Electoral College votes from states participating in an overt revolt against the United Nations. USA.
That means President Trump has the power to remove the powers of governors, mayors, judges, lawmakers or military leaders who have granted "aid or commissar" to the anti-insurgent / rebellion. back to the United States.
That also means Democrats Gavin Newsom (California), Kate Brown (Oregon), Jay Inslee (Washington) and Andrew Cuomo (New York), and many left-wing mayors like Ted Wheeler (Portland), Lori Lightfoot (Chicago) and Bill de Blasio of (New York City) will be stripped of power.
President Trump will likely declare first that an illegal nationwide rebellion is in progress, and then deploy troops to quell the riots and restore the rule of law.
Extreme violence, and anarchy in Democratic-run states like this one, and likely to get even more intense shortly after the election, will give President Trump a rationale. it was justifiable for him to declare sending troops to these rebellious states.
u The 14th Judgment will allow President Trump to deprive mayors, governors, and MPs of the Democratic Party if riots do break out. (Getty)
This was not an act of "martial law" because President Trump remained at the helm of the country, and America was not run by a military general. Rather, the military is being deployed as a tool of the President to crack down on illegal rebellions.
Radical leftists are frantically burning, destroying, dismantling everything of America, from business to historic sites, harassing electoral sites, and deconstructing the foundation. the republic to replace the totalitarian socialist regime - will be abolished.
Of course, once the riots were abolished, this military deployment would cease, and the United States returned to a civil society. However, Underground State forces like Big Media and Big Tech will not sit and sit still once President Trump starts the Resurrection Act.
This "insane" faction will accuse President Trump of being a "military dictator" as they have long been attributed to him.At the same time, the Underground State forces will call on leftists to protest and rise. teach in the way that billionaire George Soros's Open Society Fund typically funds "color revolutions" that overthrow governments around the world.
His Open Society Foundation and other coalition organizations are the sponsors, supporters of the Democratic Party and radical liberal leftists, promoting racial wars, riots. , violence and revolution against America.
George Soros - the man behind many revolutions, riots overthrew the incumbent government worldwide, and profited to get rich through endless wars. (Getty)
George Eliason, investigative reporters of Americans now live in Ukraine, has connected the signs related to administration before Barack Obama with a wicked conspiracy to disturb and disrupt civil society America. This conspiracy is not only aimed at "overthrowing" President Trump from the White House, but also wants to open up a form of government in the line of atheistic communist socialism.
George Eliason released a report alleging that foreign terrorists were brought into the United States by conspiracy by former President Obama and CIA Director John Brennan. This shocking report indicates that the Obama administration "imported" foreign terrorists into the US in preparation for the Antifa / Black Lives Matter uprising, which caused chaos in US cities. (11)
So in recent months, domestic terrorists have been so strong that they shot and killed those who support President Trump, bombed gas bombs and destroyed federal government buildings. and attack the police. This is not difficult to predict that it will inevitably happen - to an even more intense extent - if President Trump is re-elected.
President Trump fully realized that a war against America had begun, and he decided to act decisively to protect America by "manipulating" the enemy when he declared that he would use legal military force and all executive powers of a commander in chief of the United States of America.
President Trump knew what was about to happen, and he molded the enemy by threatening to use the military to completely suppress uprising. (Getty)
President Trump's high-handed move
On August 23, just a day before the Republican National Congress began, President Trump held a major event welcoming the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for allowing emergency use. patient's plasma level COVID-19 was healthy during treatment. A few hours later, it was reported that the Trump administration was considering speeding up the vaccine test to get it and roll it out before the November election.
After voicing out that Democrats could fake votes if they passed the election. Letter, President Trump continued to shock with a statement related to vaccines: "The underground State elements at the FDA are trying to prevent companies from testing vaccines. They are looking to delay vaccines until after election day. 3-11 ", Mr. Trump wrote on Twitter August 22.
According to Bloomberg, the Trump administration is working to dramatically cut the time it takes to develop the coronavirus vaccine, with the goal of giving it enough doses for most Americans by the end of the year. Known as "Warp Speed", the campaign will bring together private pharmaceutical companies, government agencies and the military to try to cut the vaccine development time to eight months. (12)
In a matter of weeks In the past, the Trump administration has actively promoted the supply of vaccines on November 1 across the United States. (13) So why choose November 1 to provide vaccines? The answer is: November 1 is important because it is only two days away from the election (November 3). The Warp Speed campaign on the surface involved vaccines, but in reality President Trump was not really "on the hook" with Big Pharma - home to the notorious vaccine manufacturing corporations. And President Trump has relied on this campaign to preserve national security by sending troops in every major city in the United States in an attempt to restore the rule of law, arrest leftist terrorists and traitors.
On March 27, 2020, President Trump issued an executive order that allowed the Pentagon to mobilize US veterans and members of the reserve force, and the National Guard returned to work. Permanent reinforcement for soldiers participating in the Army's COVID-19 pandemic campaign. (14)
The Individual Ready Reserve includes veterans, and members of the Mobilization Reserve, who are considered out of the military and rarely re-convened. These reserves will be deployed as part of the national defense against the Antifa terrorist groups, the Black Lives Matter. All of this could explain why President Trump pushed for the supply of vaccines on November 1, in which the military was sent to the country to "distribute" the vaccine.
This appears to be an extremely daring plan, "based on" the scheming brains of extremist left-wing Democracy - as a way of distributing troops across the country on election day, to prepare for application of the Resurrection Act immediately following elections.
Simply put, President Trump is a President of Law and Order.
Along with the continuous wave of American Police Associations voicing support for President Donald Trump, it can be said that the Democrats are on the same path. In other words, the Democrats were sticking him on his back, and to put it more literally, they were dancing the "music" exactly as the "talented composer": Donald Trump.

2020.09.15 21:29 throwAwayyyq332 I’ve [30m] followed all conventional advice, yet I still can’t get a girlfriend

Title pretty much sums it up. I truly made an earnest attempt, but I still cannot manage to get dates or a girlfriend. As I write this, somewhat feeling sad, I am also laughing out of incomprehension at why getting even a chance to go out on dates is so unfathomably difficult. Please don’t mistake me for having a defeatist mentality. I am still willing to try anything and continue onward, although I am losing hope.
I’m a 30 year old male living in the USA. I have multiple degrees. I work as an engineer. I love my career and I make a very comfortable living. My finances are in order. I exercise every day, whether that be going on jogs or lifting weights. My body would be described as an athletic build: lean and toned. I have a few good friends in the area and see them a few times a week. We will watch movies, go on hikes, and eat out together. Most of my friends are also single guys who are also unable to meet girls. We all work in the engineering field. My hobbies include playing tennis, photography, hiking, cooking, and reading. I have attended over a dozen “Meetup” groups over the last year or two. These mostly include hiking groups, board game groups, and cultural events. I had a pretty good time at the events, but I will admit I was disappointed at the lack of females who attend. For all extensive purposes, it’s either 90% guys at these things, or older divorced women 45s+. I’ve been on dating apps for two years. Using a combination of Hinge and Bumble. I get essentially no matches. I get maybe one match every few months? I am pretty liberal while swiping. I’ve only had two dates on there, ever. I have gotten feedback on my profile and tweaked it to the best of my ability. Although this was a last resort, about a year ago for a 4 month span, a friend and I went out to bars to try to talk to girls once a week. Once again, the male-female ratio at all those places is 75-25 in my experience. I tried chatting with a girl or two every time. I think I got two or three numbers total, none of which went anywhere. Of course most people may say this about themselves, but I honestly think I have an okay personality haha. I’m socially aware, try to ask people interesting questions about themselves and really listen. I’m more on the introverted/reserved side, but I still make an effort. I try to stay in the moment, make witty or interesting observations when striking up conversations, and generally try to stay positive. But I still definitely freeze up sometimes.
At 5’6” I am on the shorter side. I also started balding a few years ago. Under the advice of virtually everyone on the internet, I “shaved that shit off”, as bald is always better than balding apparently. I’ve done everything in my power to “max my stats” and make the most of what I have. While short and bald, I’m in shape, healthy, respectful, have a good family and friend circle, engage in hobbies, have a solid career, finances are in check, and am continually making an effort to “get out there”, maintain an online dating presence, and try to meet people.
It is funny. I always thought after I graduated college, that everything else would fall into place: relationship, family, home. I thought women would desire me for having my ducks in a row and being a provider. But this is couldn’t be further from the truth. It has been several years like this, and I feel burnt out, lonely, unnoticed, unwanted, and undesired ☹ I feel confident about the things that are in my power and the things I’m able to improve and change about myself. But I fear that the qualities I’m unable to change about myself (height and hair), that women are not even giving me the initial chance to prove to them I’m a great guy. I don’t know what else to do.

2020.09.12 22:54 mezzaninerisingson Questions about the algorithm and under the hood stuff

Hi, 37/m/straight here. Just coming back to Hinge from last year.
I like who I am but my profile is not for everyone. 6'1, 5.5-7.5 on Photofeeler, physically active, skinny with glasses, liberal, agnostic, good career, advanced degree, divorced with a kid part-time.
On my last tour of dating I would be shown attractive matches after starting the app for the first time. Within hours or a day they quickly diminished in appeal, until I was matched with people who couldn't be more different than me and who I wasn't at all physically or intellectually attracted to (think conservative, overweight, religious, dead-end job, bad profile). I kept trying to tweak my profile, update photos, etc, but nothing got me out of this rut.
I suspect that I got a lot of left swipes from women who didn't want to date someone with a kid, and the app ranked me way down. I believe the only thing I had in common with my matches is that we had both collected a ton of left swipes, even though in the real world people would probably say we were in different "leagues" (I feel icky saying that; everyone deserves love).
I deleted my account, waited a while, and signed up again. Still shown only unattractive matches, mostly the same people. I then bought a cheap sim and threw it in an old phone - my understanding is that most dating apps remember you by your phone number, app store ID, and any other credentials they can get their hands on (I don't use FaceBook). Ta-da! I started again at the top of the deck - but quickly sunk to the bottom again.
I gave up and ended up dating someone from work this year (which was great), but that's been over for a while and I'm ready to find someone new. These days, it seems like online is the only option, so I'm back on Hinge and facing the same frustration: last night I signed up and was shown physically attractive women who were otherwise quite different from me (conservative, religious, gun nuts, etc). Then, all of a sudden, I started getting an error that matching wasn't available. An hour later, I was able to match again and....bottom of the deck. I assume this was a pause while it ranked me, but damn, that was fast.
Anyways, I'm feeling very frustrated and alone. It seems hopeless that I will ever match with someone I'm actually interested in, and I can't meet someone through real world hobbies and social events right now.
Are my assumptions about the algorithm and mechanics of the app correct? I believe I have read most of them elsewhere while researching online dating last year. I know Tinder claims they got rid of their ELO score, but I see other assertions out there that they replaced it with another ranking system, and I assume each platform has their own.
Any tips for getting out of this rut?

2020.09.11 22:35 beardsorbust 35 [M4F] - Illinois/US - It is the year 2035. We are entering the 6th age of Corona. Roving bands of masked bandits have taken over the world. And yet, here I am, a polyam cutie looking for another cutie for the post apocalyptic end of the world to hug, cuddle and flirt outrageously with.

Please send all applications my way. I will peruse them with great vigor and vim.
Hi! 35 year old he/him cis dude here in a loving and long term poly relationship with a lovely gal looking for cuties to get to know and flirt with and potentially form a long lasting relationship full of trust and love and vulnerability and all that good, gooey stuff!
We date separately so not looking for a unicorn/closed triad situation. We practice kitchen table poly so ideally you'd get along with her and vice versa and we'd bond over awesome board games, move nights and various other shenanigans!
But enough about us! What about me? I'm a total dork/nerd big into fantasy and sci-fi, huge Trekkie, grew up on board games, D&D and vidja games. I love a great RPG, a good book and a great session of Catan. Movies? Yes! Television shows? Heck yeah! Anime? Sure, why not??
I live near Chicago, don't mind distances and with all the pandemic craziness going on, getting to know each other online seems to be ideal right now. Big sucker for cuties with booties.
Oh and I'm socially liberal as fuck (VOTE BERNIE), give amazing he...cuddles and hugs and love to stay in and be cozy, either doing our own thing or doing a fun activity together.
5'11, chubby/dad bod, brown (as in Pakistani), glasses, bearded and one tiny tattoo (planning on getting more!)! So if any of that interested you, shoot me a pm and we can get to know each other standing more than 6 feet apart!
Also, feel free to send a face picture (SFW please!) along with your post and I will gladly reciporcate!

2020.09.11 15:30 STUDlOGHlBLl Deleted my entire cart after a month of deliberation!

I'm a huge fan of Korean beauty, especially my holy grail brands Clio and Peripera. Over the past month, in preparation for the 9.9 sale that has just passed, I spent time adding and deleting items out of my shopping cart everyday - it almost became a treat to look forward to, curating this list of items to purchase all at once during the sale.
Fast forward, and on the day of the 9.9 sale itself, I found myself wholly disinterested in whatever I had put into my cart. I picked up my hobby of art that I had put aside before, since most of my classes had shifted online, and that took my mind off of makeup purchases. I didn't delete the items out of my cart.
Today, I clicked into the shopping platform out of total boredom, and found that there was a makeup bundle from Clio for a significantly discounted price. Not only was there the contour palette I had been wanting, the bundle also included a pretty cushion and a matte lippie from a range I already have a couple of and love. It was a steep price cut, and I almost checked out the entire cart right there and then, along with another eyeshadow palette and yet another lippie.
I didn't. I took a deep breath, and went to get dinner. One hour later, I had talked myself out of buying everything in my cart. It was refreshing, really, to feel the hot-headed impulse that comes with an online purchase bleed out of me and rationality pour back in. I rarely use makeup nowadays, mostly for classes on Zoom, occasional meetups and dates, or just a lip product before pilates. I don't even use foundation - the cushion, with its pretty packaging, would have been pointless for me to own. I still do love the contour palette, but I don't need it, really. There are other products I own that work just fine for contour.
I've been a bit of a Clio and Peripera junkie, so much so that I have perused their new collections religiously and almost purchased one item from every launch. They're brands that carry quite a bit of nostalgia for me - my first makeup items were from Peripera, and lots of outings with friends during my high school exchange to Korea were to the Club Clio store at midnight. Before recognising that I've got so much makeup piled up in my drawers unused, I'd have checked the entire cart out in a heartbeat during the sale. And to everyone struggling with a problem like this, I'd just like to share how the calmness that I felt today, being in control of my purchases and distinguishing between what I want and need - was liberating.
Might be a baby step, but I deleted my entire cart after a month or so of deliberation, and I think that's good progress for a start.

2020.09.11 00:24 TheRazorX ...in which civilian oversight is now a bad thing "Cause Trump"

I rarely post essays.
As someone who's lived in other parts of the world, I've been watching events unfold with a severe dread that surpasses Trump's worst desires (or projected desires).
The thing I fear, is not Trump "winning, it's not Biden "Winning", it's not even directly related to the election itself, rather it's summarized in Friedrich Nietzsche's famous quote;
He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster. And if you gaze long into an abyss, the abyss also gazes into you.
This quote while widespread is often ignored or dismissed as a side point, however I've long since come to the conclusion that the intense polarization is intended as a feature not a bug, and Trump is just merely a tool in the plan that has been underway for decades.
We've reached the point where BOTH Republicans AND Democrats (speaking of actual regular voters, not politicians or bots, or those minorities on either side that were already "extremists");
Myself and thousands of others that have traveled or lived in "less free" parts of the world have constantly warned of the similarities of the "But Trump" Boogeyman strategy, and of the dangers of this strategy coming to fruition, people from those regions have spoken the warnings clearly in English and of course we're ridiculed attacked and most importantly ignored.. Because "it can't happen here". Furthermore, the truth is, we've seen many "Trumps" before in recent times.
Anyone that has ever looked at any "Authoritarian" country, recognizes a very simple fact; People enable and allow said tyranny. Consent of the Governed is in fact given to both Democratic leaders and Authoritarian leaders.
In each and every one of these countries, no matter how despicable their leaders, they always manage to find support out of a fear of one or many "Boogeymen". In MENA, the holy trinity of Boogeymen is; The USA, Israel, The Muslim Brotherhood. And depending on which part of MENA, either Iran/Saudi.
Anything and everything wrong with the country, is the fault of one of those Boogeymen, and as a result quite a few people will hate their leaders openly, know they're corrupt thieves, murderers, pedophiles...etc but still back them because at least they're "protecting us from X". They'll be outraged at whatever crime the regime commits against the people, but willingly eat up the pro-regime propaganda because "They were trouble makers that deserved it" or "They were agents of Israel/USA" or "This is a plot by Israel/USA/Iran/Saudi"..etc. The list goes on and on and on. So much so that a common "twisting" of Karl Marx's adage on religion is "Israel is the Opiate of the Arabs", a concept naturally twisted by pro-Israel parties to deflect away from Israel's actual crimes, using typical "Whataboutism"
Sound familiar?
There's no doubt those "Boogeymen" are scary and regularly commit crimes. But the fact that someone commits crimes, has never ever meant that others have not themselves committed crimes. But they want you to think that, or even worse, they want the crimes of said Boogeymen to excuse the crimes of those in their own tribes.
There's a very real reason the astroturfing efforts are focused on "So you want Trump to win?" and "So you're voting for Trump?" type messages when trying to "convince" voters to back Biden that are skeptical. So much so, they haven't even bothered to pretend otherwise. They want binary.
There's a very very VERY good reason that Bernie said we need a global progressive front, and that Yanis Varoufakis agreed., What we're seeing happen in the USA, we saw before in multiple countries. They understand that with corporate authoritarian power going multinational and coordinating on an international basis, we need an international front to fight it, and not just focus on "local" stuff, because as I'm trying to point out, you end up seeing the same tactics happen elsewhere because even those that bother to pay cursory attention think or say "it can't happen here", or more importantly, even if they do understand the possibility of it "happening here" only see it in the light of tribalism, where only "The other" is willing or capable to bring it to fruition.
We're now at the point where civilian oversight of an election is considered a "bad thing" by "Liberals", "cause Drumpf", this isn't the first (or even last) time I've heard something similar. For example, it's anecdotal, but a friend reported once that during a conversation, a very liberal and otherwise "normal" but very "Dem" co-worker mentioned that she found it "extremely creepy" that a Bernie supporter was video taping her counting votes at a precinct in 2016 when she was a volunteer poll worker. She obviously wasn't a Bernie fan.

That is the bigger threat, that is the bigger "goal" that you can easily trace going back to 1971 or even 1933. This is the culmination of everything, including Trump and the Pied Piper strategy (A strategy they continue to repeat even though we've already seen and felt the real results of it on actual people, specifically the most disadvantaged); To effectively and gradually "guide" the populace into accepting tyranny and fascism, either out of exploiting their fears, or out of giving them a sense of self righteousness in which suppressing "the other" is for a "righteous cause" or "the greater good". They've slowly convinced a large group of people across political ideologies that "Stability is more important than Freedom", Something we've seen said before by Trump's "Favorite Dictator", causing a perception shift here in the USA that we're seeing happen in real time., largely mirroring the sentiment in "non-free" countries

You're either with us, or against us is now the rallying cry across the board.. one we've heard before even here in the USA, a message that when last we heard it, it was used to justify one of the worst crimes of the modern era
The intense polarization of America along acceptance of authoritarian tolerance is a feature, not a bug. To quote the pinned tweet of one of the aforementioned accounts;
“The junk merchant doesn't sell his product to the consumer, he sells the consumer to his product. He does not improve and simplify his merchandise. He degrades and simplifies the client.”
~William S. Burroughs, Naked Lunch
Multiple studies from reputable sources have sounded the alarm that faith in democracy is fading fast, but once again, no one is listening, even when "Liberal" favorites talk about it.
To give you an example of what I mean, folks wanting the government to "verify" news (to combat fake news), completely forget (or intentionally omit) the fact that the very same laws they're recommending have already been implemented in multiple countries and only benefit the ruling regime, who use them as just another tool to silence dissident. Furthermore, there are other methods of combating disinformation that don't erode civil liberties., but we rarely hear about them in public discourse, the choice we're always given is "Give up this right, or suffer the consequences".
And a crucial but (intentionally?) overlooked fact on the free-speech debate, starts cutting through all the fog;
“Constitutional protection should be accorded only to speech that is explicitly political,” he wrote. “There is no basis for judicial intervention to protect any other form of expression, be it scientific, literary or that variety of expression we call obscene or pornographic.”
But a transformative ruling by the Supreme Court five years later began to change that thinking. The case, a challenge to a state law that banned advertising the prices of prescription drugs, was filed by Public Citizen, a consumer rights group founded by Ralph Nader. The group argued that the law hurt consumers, and helped persuade the court, in Virginia State Board of Pharmacy v. Virginia Citizens Consumer Council, to protect advertising and other commercial speech.
The only dissent in the decision came from Justice William H. Rehnquist, the court’s most conservative member.
Kathleen M. Sullivan, a former dean of Stanford Law School, wrote that it did not take long for corporations to see the opportunities presented by the decision.
“While the case was litigated by consumer protection advocates,” she wrote in the Harvard Law Review, “corporate speakers soon became the principal beneficiaries of subsequent rulings that, for example, struck down restrictions on including alcohol content on beer can labels, limitations on outdoor tobacco advertising near schools and rules governing how compounded drugs may be advertised.”
That trend has continued, with businesses mounting First Amendment challenges to gun control laws, securities regulations, country-of-origin labels, graphic cigarette warnings and limits on off-label drug marketing.
“I was a bit queasy about it because I had the sense that we were unleashing something, but nowhere near what happened,” Mr. Nader said. “It was one of the biggest boomerangs in judicial cases ever.”
“I couldn’t be Merlin,” he added. “We never thought the judiciary would be as conservative or corporate. This was an expansion that was not preordained by doctrine. It was preordained by the political philosophies of judges.”
Not all of the liberal scholars and lawyers who helped create modern First Amendment law are disappointed. Martin Redish, a law professor at Northwestern University, who wrote a seminal 1971 article proposing First Amendment protection for commercial speech, said he was pleased with the Roberts court’s decisions.
“Its most important contributions are in the commercial speech and corporate speech areas,” he said. “It’s a workmanlike, common sense approach.”
Liberals also played a key role in creating modern campaign finance law in Buckley v. Valeo, the 1976 decision that struck down limits on political spending by individuals and was the basis for Citizens United, the 2010 decision that did away with similar limits for corporations and unions.
One plaintiff was Senator Eugene J. McCarthy, Democrat of Minnesota, who had challenged President Lyndon B. Johnson in the 1968 presidential primaries — from the left. Another was the American Civil Liberties Union’s New York affiliate.
Professor Neuborne, a former A.C.L.U. lawyer, said he now regrets the role he played in winning the case. “I signed the brief in Buckley,” he said. “I’m going to spend long amounts of time in purgatory.”
To Professor Seidman, cases like these were part of what he describes as a right-wing takeover of the First Amendment since the liberal victories in the years Chief Justice Earl Warren led the Supreme Court.
“With the receding of Warren court liberalism, free-speech law took a sharp right turn,” Professor Seidman wrote in a new article to be published in the Columbia Law Review. “Instead of providing a shield for the powerless, the First Amendment became a sword used by people at the apex of the American hierarchy of power. Among its victims: proponents of campaign finance reform, opponents of cigarette addiction, the L.B.G.T.Q. community, labor unions, animal rights advocates, environmentalists, targets of hate speech and abortion providers.
Yet, almost all the discourse in free speech debates/"Cancel culture" is focused on anything EXCEPT the corporate aspect, and naturally ignores the only groups actually and truly at a disadvantage.. Joy Ann Reid's was never "cancelled" for her Islamophobia, bigotry, racism, antisemitism...etc , but was rather rewarded with a prime time show, and many of the same "liberals" applaud her regularly.
And obviously on the Right, none of them are "Cancelled" for any obvious transgressions.
It starts getting clearer when you realize what types of people are "agreeing" with each other on the subject, and who certain folks decided to target
All that paints a very clear picture; Only your rights should be revoked. "We" should be given a pass.
Side note; I also find it interesting how many twisted abuses can be traced back to the corporate response to Nader's (at the time) very effective citizen activism.. That was the pivotal moment. Which makes it all the easier to see how they so effectively managed to turn him into a pariah.
On a related note, Information warfare has been predicted to be the new major war front at least as far back as 1996, so this isn't something they just started thinking about in 2016, contrary to popular perception. Hell, an extremely popular anime talked of it in the early 2000s, and fictionally exhibited things we see in reality today.
Even Bin Laden, the infamous terrorist, understood the ramifications, and considered it a primary tenant of his "Death by a thousand cuts" strategy, although he was primary focused on inflicting economic harm.
And "we" walked right into it willingly. Why? Well perhaps this next quote will shed some light;
Richard Shultz, a professor of international politics at Tufts who’s long been a key national security state intellectual, wrote in 2004 that “A very senior [Special Operations Forces] officer who had served on the Joint Staff in the 1990s told me that more than once he heard terrorist strikes characterized as ‘a small price to pay for being a superpower.’
Again, the missed subtext is clear; Human lives lost in terrorism attacks (and increased radicalization due to US actions leading to more potential terrorist attacks) are a cheap price for global (and more importantly economic) dominance. By extension, one can assume that human lives lost to other corporate goals are also considered a "cheap cost".

This is NOT ok.

Speaking of radicalization and Al-Qaeda....
What did the founding fathers (that conservatives love to reference) think of stuff like this?
Abraham Lincoln warned in February 15, 1848, of the dangers of "Only I see and understand the danger, only I can protect you" type politics.
Allow the President to invade a neighboring nation whenever he shall deem it necessary to repel an invasion, and you allow him to do so whenever he may choose to say he deems it necessary for such purpose, and you allow him to make war at pleasure. Study to see if you can fix any limit to his power in this respect, after having given him so much as you propose. If to-day he should choose to say he thinks it necessary to invade Canada to prevent the British from invading us, how could you stop him? You may say to him,—”I see no probability of the British invading us”; but he will say to you, “Be silent: I see it, if you don’t.”
The provision of the Constitution giving the war making power to Congress was dictated, as I understand it, by the following reasons: kings had always been involving and impoverishing their people in wars, pretending generally, if not always, that the good of the people was the object. This our convention understood to be the most oppressive of all kingly oppressions, and they resolved to so frame the Constitution that no one man should hold the power of bringing this oppression upon us. But your view destroys the whole matter, and places our President where kings have always stood. Write soon again.
James Madison on Friday, February 8th, 1788 warned;
But the great security against a gradual concentration of the several powers in the same department, consists in giving to those who administer each department the necessary constitutional means and personal motives to resist encroachments of the others. The provision for defense must in this, as in all other cases, be made commensurate to the danger of attack. Ambition must be made to counteract ambition. The interest of the man must be connected with the constitutional rights of the place. It may be a reflection on human nature, that such devices should be necessary to control the abuses of government. But what is government itself, but the greatest of all reflections on human nature? If men were angels, no government would be necessary. If angels were to govern men, neither external nor internal controls on government would be necessary. In framing a government which is to be administered by men over men, the great difficulty lies in this: you must first enable the government to control the governed; and in the next place oblige it to control itself. A dependence on the people is, no doubt, the primary control on the government; but experience has taught mankind the necessity of auxiliary precautions.
What's often missed, is the subtext of Madison's warning, and central to the thesis of this essay, clarifies that yes, Government is supposed to represent the will of the people (or what they're willing to tolerate), but what happens when "the people" are "guided" to a particular view? Why is propaganda so prevalent and effective? Why do we reject the very clear evidence and science that entire populations can in fact be "rewired" to a particular view?
In other words, combining the warnings of Nietzsche, Lincoln and Madison's warning leads to the conclusion that yes, if "properly guided" the people can be taught to "yearn for a king", something which again, we've seen happen in practice across the world.
In closing, while none of this information is new but we're reaching the apex of a long arc, and if you've read this and thought one or more of;
Then you're exactly part of the problem I'm warning of. I'm not saying vote for Trump, I'm not saying vote for Biden. I'm not saying to vote at all, or that voting actually has much to do with it in the first place.
I'm pointing out a very simple fact expressed once by Benjamin Franklin, and even though the context was endlessly butchered, the real context makes it far more relevant;
In January 1775 Benjamin Franklin (1796-1790) was part of an American delegation sent to Britain in an attempt to resolve the outstanding disagreements between the Crown and the colonies. Seventeen points were up for discussion of which several were rejected outright by the Crown while others were rejected by the colonies. Franklin’s comments regarding the last two points produced one of his most famous sayings from the period:
As to the other two acts, (i.e. 16. The American admiralty courts reduced to the same powers they have in England, and the acts establishing them to be reënacted in America; and 17. All powers of internal legislation in the colonies to be disclaimed by Parliament) the Massachusetts (sic) must suffer all the hazards and mischiefs of war rather than admit the alteration of their charters and laws by Parliament. ‘They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.’
The context explained in the analysis makes it ever more clear;
It is interesting to see where the main lines of disagreement lay between the colonists' delegation to London and the Crown in early 1775 which one would think would have been the last opportunity at some kind of reconciliation before independence was declared and war broke out. The sticking points for the Crown were the 8th, 11th, and 17th Articles which were declared to be “inadmissible” or were “refused absolutely”: “8. No troops to enter and quarter in any colony, but with the consent of its legislature. 11. The late Massachusetts and Quebec Acts to be repealed, and a free government granted to Canada. 17. All powers of internal legislation in the colonies to be disclaimed by Parliament.” The payment of back taxes might be negotiable but when it came to the stationing of troops or placing limits on the power of Parliament over colonial legislatures no compromise was possible without giving up political power. Franklin’s remarks about the trade offs between “essential liberty” and “a little temporary safety” seem to have been directed at those in the colonies who could see that further compromise was no longer possible by the Crown and that it was up to the colonies to cave in in order to maintain the peace. Franklin was urging them that to do this would be to give up the entire game and thereby scuttle any chance for real liberty and independence in the colonies.

The king is dead, long live the king.

TL;DR : Shit is fucked. Read it.

2020.09.11 00:04 CaptKutchiesTA The Kutchie's Key Lime Pie Mystery Part 1: Overview, Theories and Leads

The mystery of Captain Kutchie and his key lime pie has haunted the internet for over a decade now. It’s been extensively written on elsewhere, so I won’t spend long on the details I assume many already know, so check this link for some more in-depth info (https://www.reddit.com/UnresolvedMysteries/comments/9wo93c/other_an_indepth_look_at_kutchies_key_lime_pies/ )
The basis of the mystery though, is that since 2010, an individual or group has been writing cryptic, bizarrely written rants on various websites about a restaurant called Captain Kutchie’s Key West Cafe, usually focusing on either the key lime pies served at this restaurant, or the owner, Oswald “Kutchie” Paleaz. For a long time, it was unclear that Kutchie’s actually existed, but it was eventually discovered that the restaurant did exist, and was open from the 1970s until 2009, at the address 2227-2201 Asheville Hwy, Hendersonville, NC 2879. The messages about Kutchie’s have turned up in various places throughout the internet, but they usually share a common format. Here is one sample:
“I Tried The Captain Kutchie’s Key Lime Pies And Those PieGasams Healed All My Symptoms Within The First 4-Weeks! I highly Recommend Captain Kutchie’s Key Lime Pies For Anything That Ails You!….(“They’re Great”!!!.).. .. …Kobe Bryant May Be Retiring From Basket Ball But Captain Kutchie’s Is Still His Pie Of Choice!… …Can’t Get Enough Of That Key Lime Pie, Key Lime Pie, Key Lime Pie. Can’t Get Enough Of That Key Lime Pie Or I’ll Just Cry Until I Die, I Don’t Know Why I Just Love My Key Lime Pies!…. .\ .”
So, this is a typical example of what the posts look like, showing many of the common hallmarks: non-syntactic sentences, Capitalization Of Every Word, references to celebrities or politicians liking the pies and an odd radio-announcer like tone are some hallmarks of the writing style, though it can vary. It isn’t hard to see why, after finding these messages strewn across the internet like litter by the side of a freeway, people have gotten sucked into the investigation, and become suspicious of deeper meanings.
This 2-part longpost is going to be looking through the various writings of the mysterious poster over the years and the theories surrounding them, eventually leading up to my own personal quest to solve the mystery, and the findings I’ve made. I do not have a true wrap-up to this case, but I believe I have done the most in-depth research of anyone up until now, and I have discovered some hitherto unexplored leads. First, a look at the theories surrounding the case posited by other investigators over the years:
A Bot- This is a common theory due to the connection to a business, and the fact that the poster seems to respond to certain keywords (topics involving pie, sex, politics, and baby boomer pop culture). However, I think this one can be dismissed out of hand, the reason being that accounts connected to Kutchie’s have engaged and responded to people in a non-botlike way. More on that later. Beyond that, I can’t see any reason for someone to program such a bot, since there’s nothing to be gained from having a bot spend a decade posting nonsense about a defunct restaurant.
Oswald Pelaez himself- This is another one I’ve seen a few times, the assumption being that the posts are the Captain having a senior moment, or just fucking around in his old age. A visit to Pelaez’s Facebook page shows that he did indeed have a word-salad writing style, albeit not the exact same as the Kutchie's poster. However, it seems unlikely that this was the case, as a Redditor reported having contacted one of Pelaez’s sons, and finding that the Pelaez family appeared equally baffled.
An autistic or schizophrenic individual with a fixation on the restaurant: This suggestion derives from the unique writing style and monomaniacal interest of the poster. I have seen mental health professionals weighing in saying that the stream-of-conscious nature of the posts recalls their patients. I think people are drawn to this explanation because it puts something of a wholesome spin on the mystery- an individual with social/cognitive difficulties had a good experience at the restaurant while growing up in Asheville all those years ago, and now he wants to tell the internet about it in his one way. However, as again shown through communications with the poster, they are able to switch out of their “posting voice” and become more lucid, which may put this theory into doubt, or at least implies that the individual behind the posts is more high-functioning and calculating.
Coded messages or communications- This is a natural theory- the idea is that these posts are the modern equivalent of the Cold War number’s stations, broadcasting messages which can be read by the public, but are incomprehensible except to those privy to the info on how to decode it. The immediate problem with this theory is that the slow pace, repetitious nature, and semi-random web addresses of the postings would seem to make it hard to hide code in them. How would the recipients of the code even know where to look? However, there is also the possibility that it’s simply an individual screaming his coded messages into the void, to taunt people or conceal his intentions from all but a skilled codebreaker, rather like the Zodiac Killer or the Duclod Man. Why would this individual choose to hide his messages in the form of posts about a defunct restaurant? Who can say?
So, those are the major theories floating around out there regarding who the poster is. As we can see, a few of these theories can be dismissed out of hand, and one can potentially poke holes in all of them. Now that we’ve looked at the theories, it’s time for an overview of the posts themselves, as they have appeared over the past 10 years:
Foodio54- (http://foodio54.com/restaurant/South-Asheville-Arden-NC/c2e5c/Kutchies-Key-West-Kutcharitaville-Cafe) This restaurant review site hosts four separate reviews of Kutchie’s Key West Cafe. All four of these reviews are clearly written in the same style, and they were written over the course of several years. The oldest one here is by a user named VinnyGambini, after the character in My Cousin Vinny. Dating from December 2009, this may be the single oldest Kutchie’s post.
“Kutch Makes All Those Key Lime Pies From Real Ingredients, Including Real Key Lime Juice. "Anita" Kutchie's Lovely Wife Helps Him Now Making All Those Pies. She Also Runs The Front Too, As Well As The Office. Yea, Keep It All In The Family. Now That's How You Get Quality Control. "Pop", Kutchie's Dad Has Always Been There To Help From The Beginning. Kutchie's Mom Even Helped Out Until She Passed Away Several Years Ago. Threw The 80's Kutch and Anita Had Three Sons, Carlo, Santino and Joseph. Kutch Calls Them His Three Amigo's. All Three Sons Were Raised There In The Restaurant And Have Learned All Aspects Of The Business, From The Dish Tank, Mopping Floors, Cutting Meats, Serving Tables, Cooking And Tending Bar. Kutch Said That His First Road Sign Listed At The Bottom, "Family Restaurant". Kutch Said, "At That Time He Had No Idea That Someday His Whole Family Would Be The Ones Working There". Well I Guess, That's Life. Sometimes I Call Kutch and Ask Him How Are Things Going, He Says "Just Another Day In Paradise". Shit, I Can Tell That He Is Sick And Tired Of Doing The Same Old Thing Day-In And Day-Out. Kutch Would Never Admit That, He'll Probably Keep That Place Open To Train His Grand Kids The Business. Kutch Has Many People Calling, All The Time, Wanting Him To Start An On-Line Business To Sell His Key Lime Pies Country Wide. I Don't Know If He Can Bake That Many. He Seems Pretty Pushed As It Is. He Says That Maybe Someday He Will Throw Up Another Building And Put A Key Lime Pie Factory In It, And Start A Web-Site. May-Be He Will, May-Be He Wont, Who Knows. Just Don't Tell Him, That He Can't. “
Here, the poster refers to Oswald’s wife, Anita. He also accurately names Oswald’s three sons. I don’t know how many records about Oswald Pelaez were online in 2009, so I’m not sure whether the poster would have needed to know the family to have this information. The next oldest post is from 2012, and curiously, does not capitalize every word like most Kutchie’s posts. This poster signs their name as “Betty Joe Walker''. A Google search shows that there was one person with that name (there are a few other Betty Jo Walkers, but only one spelled J-o-e). Walker was a native of central North Carolina. And she died at the age of 67, one year before the post was made. This was the finding that made me start thinking of this mystery as something sinister. Why would a bot, or an individual simply sharing his happy memories, steal a dead person’s name? Two more Restaurant54 reviews of Kutchies’s date to 2013, and contain pretty standard content for the poster. One of them uses the name “Jake Carson'', which is used by this poster in other places as well.
Ozgold.com- Around 2012, the poster began writing posts claiming that Captain Kutchie was giving aways millions of dollars in prizes, and linking to a now defunct site called Ozgold.com. All of these posts can be found in a Pastebin here: https://pastebin.com/bT1z5ywT. He even links to Pelaez’s phone number in one of these. Oddly, he takes a negative tone towards Pelaez in some of these posts, writing in one “Please, Please, Please warn everyone about about ozsgold.com and Mr. OZ, That SOB has to be a crook or just plume loco. Maybe another Bernie Madoff, who the hell knows? It just ain't right.” Of course, this gold giveaway never existed either way as far as I can tell.
The copy-paste messages-
In 2013, the frequency of Kutchie’s posting really skyrocketed. IMDB, cooking sites, Fanfiction.net, Google Books reviews- nowhere was safe. Of course, the poster was mainly drawn in by particular key-topics: Pie, restaurants in genera, sex, politics, baby-boomer celebrities such as Johnny Carson. A few usernames were commonly employed for these posts: Roger Ramjet, Willie Jordan and Jake Carson. Most of these messages would be exact or near-exact copy pastes of one another. Some common topics of these posts included:
Key Lime Pies and Goody-goody Cheeseburgers- As far as can be gleaned from surviving ads, the restaurant prided itself on serving a variety of steaks and seafoods, but the key lime pies and burgers (which the poster always refers to as “goody-goody cheeseburgers”) seem to have been what made an impression to this person/bot/secret cabal. Occasionally, the poster will also reference Kutchie’s “prime ribs of beef with swamp water”. What does that mean- who knows?
Oswald’s wife, Anita Pelaez- generally refers to her as “lovely” or “hot”. "It just doesn't get any better than seeing her," as it appears.
The proximity of the restaurant to the Biltmore Estate- The Biltmore Estate was the home of George Vanderbilt II, and is by far the largest private residence ever built in America. It also happens to be located in Asheville. It seems as though the poster is trying to advertise the restaurant’s proximity to a major tourist attraction- heedless of the fact that the restaurant is closed.
Orgasms- Describing food as “better than sex” isn’t too weird, but our poster really likes to stretch out this saying. He refers to the food as giving him “piegasms” which he implies restored his sexual vitality. Here’s an excerpt of an example from the Google Books reviews of a book called “Incredible Orgasms”, by Marcelle Perks:
“.I Do Know First Hand That The Pelaez’s Famous Key Lime Pies Have The Ability To Turn Small Stream Squirters Into Major League Gushers Or Some Might Call Them “Niagara Falls”. Holly Molly, Let Those Good Times Flow, Baby! ….It’s No Wonder Everyone Believes That Kutchie Pelaez Is The Most Interesting Man In The World…..”Damn He Really Is” For Sure! …..That “Kutchie”, He Looks Marvelous Dahling!… ….”Hemingway”, Had Nothing On The “KutchMan”… ….Someone Overheard The “Kutchman” Say One Day That He Thought That He Was A Lesbian!… We Don’t Want To see Him Coming Out Of The Toilet With Just His Dick In His Hands”
Older Facebook Posts-
To my knowledge, at least three Facebook accounts have been linked to Kutchie's poster over the years. The oldest, operated from 2013-2016 is Jake Carson: https://www.facebook.com/jake.carson.98284/friends. The “Jake Carson” previously showed up as one of the reviewer names on Foodio54. The name bears resemblance to Johnny Carson, another obsession of the poster. This account had no friends, no photos or video uploaded, and never deviated from copy pasting the same few messages over and over. The Carson account was prolific in 2014, often posting 3-5 times/day. The frequency of posts eventually tapered, the last one being made in 2016. 2016 was also the year that the copy-pasted comments on various websites stopped appearing with regularity. Some people believe that the real Kutchie’s poster stopped at this point, and everything after 2016 has been trolls appropriating the role. As we will see, however, the post-2016 posts indicate an equally bizarre and committed writer, which makes it seem unlikely that it’s a different person.
The second Kutchie’s Facebook account appears in 2017. This is another personal account, which goes by the name Kutchie Pelaez. This is one of the main reasons some people think it isn’t operated by the same person- because the poster never previously claimed to be Captain Kutchie (though he did claim to have worked there in some posts). Unlike Jake Carson, Kutchie Pelaez doesn’t post copypasted messages. He does, however, have a variety of artists and musicians liked, including this band, The Ritards, with whom he has the following interaction: https://www.facebook.com/theritards/reviews/?ref=page_internal. What’s curious though, is that beyond this Facebook page, there is little indication that The Ritards actually exist. They have no music uploaded anywhere online, nor are there concert dates. Their posts do have a few likes though, most from people in the Eastern Pennsylvania area. When I messaged the Facebook page to ask what they knew about Captain Kutchie, my post was marked as “seen” almost immediately, even though the page has not been updated in two years. I received no response, however. While The Ritards seemed to be a dead-end, the Eastern PA music scene will prove to be important.
Also notable re: the Kutchie Pelaez Facebook page is the encounter Reddit user u/carinhabsburg had with the account, documented here: https://www.reddit.com/UnresolvedMysteries/comments/5c7g4m/what_the_captain_kutchie_of_the_key_lime_pies/. They messaged the account to ask who Kutchie was. He replied by sending a paragraph of text from a demo version of Silent Hill, which was in Swedish. While u/carinhapsburg was Swedish, they were adamant that there was no way Kutchie should have known that. Referencing a modern video game is certainly out of character for the boomer-persona the Kutchie’s poster had built up, so you can certainly see why some think the post-2016 poster is a different person. However, the vaguely sinister tone of this interaction is not exactly without precedent, given that the poster was already stealing a dead woman’s name in 2012.
Deviantart- The same year that the Kutchie Pelaez Facebook debuted, a Devientart with the same profile picture debuted- https://www.deviantart.com/captainkutchie. The bio of this account ascribes a variety of odd attributes to Captain Kutchie- His favorite gaming platform? “A sidewalk large enough for a heated round of hopscotch or marbles.”
His favourite books? “Epidemically overrated teen paperback novels. Ikea instruction manuals.”
His “Tools of the Trade?” “My fists. Spells and potions.”
The accounts gallery posts are now deleted, and I unfortunately did not take any screenshots. There were three paragraphs that they copypsted over and over- one about Anita Pelaez and Kutchie’s prime rib, one excerpt from a Longmont Potion Castle bit, and one Charles Manson quote. Longmont Potion Castle is an anonymous individual who has recorded their prank calls since the early 90s. Since anonymity and the adoption of absurd personas are LPC’s hallmarks, it’s not hard to see why the Kutchie’s poster chooses to quote them. The Manson quote, while tying in to the poster’s obsession with famous people of the 60s and 70s, adds another deeply sinister element to the mystery.
Patti Salmon-
In 2018, the poster begins writing about Captain Kutchie’s under the name Patti Salmon (a pun on salmon patties?) These posts are differentiated from the past ones by their explicit political anger. While politics were already noted as one of the poster’s obsessions, Patti Salmon goes on disparaging rants, only loosely tied back to the restaurant, against liberal political figures.
This is an excerpt from a comment under a blog post about the Kutchie’s mystery (also indicating that the poster is self-aware of the mystery community’s interest in them):
“That Rep. Jerry Nadler (D) NY, Rag Head llhan Omar (D) Minn, Alex Ocasio-Horetez (D) NY, Ayanna Lesbo Pressley (D) Mass.., Rashida Tlaib (D) Mich., Al Green (D) Tx., Pocahantas Vermont Tribe with Bernie Sanders, Nervous Nancy Cookville Calf., Rachel Madnow (MSNBC), Robert De Negro (NY), Shifty Schiff Cookvill Calf., El Chapo, Bozo O’ Rourke (Who Cares)., Maxine Impeach Waters Cookville Calf., Woopi Goldbrick (ABC)., Joy Blowhard (ABC)., Rainny Hostin (ABC)., Juan Williams (FOX NEWS)., Adoff Hilter (HELL)., Hell-They’re All really some kind of Commie’s ? Impeach Them NOW!!! Oh, I forgot one, The Rev. Al Not-So-Sharpton, very interesting butt Stupid! Let’s Send them all to the moon for the next 50 Years! What would Chef Captain Kutchie Pelaez Say? Well, He would probably say something like “No Soup For You!!!”. “Come Back 50 years”. Or something like for all those “Politicos” “Stay Away From Those Manholes” and he would say “Don’t Get None On Ya!”. Anyway, we sure-do still agree with all those “Kutcharitaville and Chef Captain Kutchie Pelaez Reports that everyone has been posting for the last 25 years or however long this internet thing has been going on. Captain Kutchie has been World Famous way longer than this stupid internet for damn sure. You can take that to the bank, Thats’ GOLD Jerry it’s GOLD! Or put it in your pipe and smoke it. He would also say, All of today’s Anti Trumpers are mad because, they were promised by The Dragon Lady HerSelf “Hillary Clinton” a leading Membership in Hillary’s 666 New World Order! What makes all these Racist, Commie Leftest Liberal Wannabee everything for nothing AssHoles and they’re Scum Sucking Pig, Fake News Chicken-Shit, Ass Licking Fake Reporters think that they can outsmart our “Lord Christ Jesus”? Hillary, your lord Satan was defeated way back on The Cross and yet, YOU, continue to deceive and recruit all those weak souls that you can fool too follow you back home straight too HELL!”
Note the interest in conspiracy theories here.
Newer Facebook Posts-
Finally, we come to the newest Facebook account, this one a page for a business rather than a personal account- Kutchie’s Key West Kutcharitaville Cafe (not linked here, gonna go ahead and say Do Not Interact). This page debuted in July 2020, just weeks before I fell down the Kutchie’s rabbithole and began this investigation. Unsurprisingly given its recency, it does not appear to have been discovered by anyone else in the mystery community.
The earliest posts from this page are simply shares of Jake Carson’s posts from several years prior. On July 12th, the Kutcharitaville page began posting longer messages, at a rate of 5+ every day. These posts are nonsensical jumbles of words that appear in other Kutchie’s posts, and appear to have been created by either a bot, or one of those story generators where you feed paragraphs in and it tries to rearrange them syntactically. Here’s a sample from a much longer post.
“BILTMORE HOUSE AND WE LOVELY ANITA PELAEZ IS THE PELAEZ IS THE WORLD THEY EVERYONE S KEY WEST FAME LOCATED NEAR THE BEST AND GRILL WHERE THE BILLED AS THE LOVELY COUPLE S KEY WEST FAME LOCATED NEAR THE MEL FISHER HE THOSE GOOD NEWS NOT A LESBIAN ANITA S BEST AND GRILL WHERE THE LOVELY COUPLE S BEST AND GRILL WHERE THE LOVELY COUPLE HOUSE AND THEY EVERYONE S SEX RATES BY KUTCHIE S BEST AND WE LOVELY COUPLE S SEX RATES BY NO LESS THAN HIS FATHER THEY EVERYONE S GOOD NEWS NOT A WIN WIN WIN FOR ANYTHING ON THE DOG ATE YOURS DICK IN THE PELAEZ OVER AND TREASURE MUCH MORE ANITA PELAEZ AND HER FAMOUS DEEP SEA UNDERWATER AND HER FAMOUS KEY WEST FAME MAY”
Interspersed with these posts are excerpts from North Carolinian newspapers that reference the restaurant, and photos of the exterior and interior of the abandoned building. What’s interesting is that the photos of the building don’t appear to be from anywhere on the internet. In other words, that means the poster must have actually gone to the building, and either broken in or been let in. This is the reason why I, as stated earlier, think that the post-2016 posts do come from the same individual as the older ones. The level of obsession indicated here is not that of a troll or a LARPer. It’s that of someone truly devoted to an inscrutable cause. Interestingly, one of these posts received a like from the Kutchie Pelaez account, indicating it was still active too in July 2020.
More recently, the account began posting coherent sentences that bear no relation to Captain Kutchie or key lime pies. In a post from July 28th, the poster copypastes the phrase “mail dropped to Rhode Island” 35 times, and below that “From Delaware.” Another post copies the phrase “My brother was eaten by wolves on the Connecticut turnpike,” which is a line from the Stephen King story “1408”.
On July 31st, the poster writes “Carrie Lam is not nice with China. She will end floating in a water tank”, copying this phrase dozens of times. This appears to be a macabre pun on the shared surnames of Carrie Lam, controversial mayor of Hong-Kong, and Elisa Lam, a woman who drowned in a water tank under circumstances that have made her story a fixture in the online unsolved-mysteries community. At the time of writing, the most recent post is from August 25th, and reads
“USE [master] Mexico. Mexico. Mexico. Soon we are in Mexico. (+14) and in we go. GO”
Screencaps of some posts, for posterity: https://imgur.com/gallery/R8ssLw6
This is the current status of the Kutchie’s poster. Dark, cryptic phrases, repeated on a Facebook page to 69 followers. Next, I’m going to be posting about the results of my personal investigation into the Kutchie’s mystery, featuring my interactions with this account, among others.
Edit
I have made a significant error in my post. The owner of the restaurant was Oswald Pelaez Jr, nor senior, and Anita was his wife, while Polly was his father's wife. So Captain Kutchie is still alive, I believe

2020.09.10 17:46 cakerad 22[F4M] Washington State; Relationship that would lead to marriage and family

I’m the type of person that will acquire plenty of books only to never read them but scroll through them and end up watching something on Netflix or Youtube instead. I also like cliche things like long walks on the beach, going on adventures and trying new restaurants. I like to think I’m a pretty good cook as well but you can be the judge of that.

2020.09.10 06:37 dbcook1 Interesting crossroads I'm in (what to do)

So I'm at an interesting place in life at the moment and looking for advice. I am male, 37, and single with no kids. Haven't been in a relationship in about 8 years besides a few week-long flings with women I know who were passing through town. I am a very independent individual that owns my own downtown condo, has no debt outside of some remaining student loans and my mortgage, keeps in good shape, has a great high paying professional job as a transportation planneproject manager. I also have started to grow an online side business selling my artwork. Pre-COVID I travelled like it was nobody's business going to Europe twice last year alone (Finland, Estonia, and Germany) and all things willing going to Japan for a month next year. I have almost paid back a 100k in student loan debt on my own. Where I live is crazy affordable (Lynchburg, VA) so I can afford to do all these trips and not worry about expenses too much. I'm also on the Downtown Association Board of Directors and Placemaking Committee.
Now that's all the positives happening in my life. On the flip side I am worried that I have been out of the dating game for so long that I have forgotten how to be in a relationship. To make things harder I am liberal and agnostic that lives in the heart of the Bible belt in a pretty conservative area. It seems that everyone around me as already gotten married in their 20s straight out of college and are already on their second or third kid at my age. They also tend to be pretty religious (nothing against that at all, just not my type personally). It is a bit odd for me personally to see this as someone who has travelled to the Nordic countries where most women don't even get married until their mid-30s on average but I digress. Another thing is that I am a hardcore environmentalist that tries to limit my carbon footprint since I fly abroad and domestic often so I live in a tiny urban downtown condo and don't own a car by choice opting instead to save money for retirement, pay off my student loans, and travel the world. This has worked tremendously well for me personally as most my needs are within a five minute walk and I don't mind riding my bike or taking uber for longer destinations. This lifestyle is very foreign to most women where I live where among other things I'm interested in such as learning foreign languages, watching international film, walking and biking for miles around my city, and working on my art are just not that interesting to most folks in Central VA (most here are seemingly just into families, church, football, and such). For me taking transit or riding a bike as a means of transportation just seems normal and nothing to be ashamed of, but I get the sense that it isn't helping my dating prospects here (which tbh could care less what people think). There is a fairly decent sized and growing liberal population here, though I have not been able to connect with anybody in that group on any meaningful level since so few are looking to date themselves or are already married. I'm also borderline a functional alcoholic which is another good reason not to drive. Even if I did own a car I'd have to take Uber on dates as it is hard for me to go out and not have a few drinks. My preference is to travel as much as possibly by train and plane so I can read, work, and have a few beers while traveling...
My predicament is what to do with my life at this stage. If I stay here I fear I will grow old alone. I have only a couple friends left locally that I see as most have moved onto bigger cities or gotten married and started having kids. I have no family in Virginia with most living in Germany, Georgia, or North Carolina. On the other hand it is super affordable to live here and with my salary I am saving so much, living life to the fullest and am perfectly content. My parents are getting a bit worried about my life situation though and even my mom has recommended I consider a move abroad to Berlin, Amsterdam, Tokyo, Oslo or Copenhagen to have a better chance of finding a woman I can relate to. Now though I'm in a quandary as a private planning consulting firm is in negotiations to hire me and expand their operations from Charlottesville to Lynchburg which would come with a hefty pay increase, but I would still be in Lynchburg. The downtown where I live is revitalizing and it is steadily getting more diverse, but tbh it seems impossible to meet women here and I have tried everything from dating apps, to the young professionals group, to bar crawls, to meetups, to group runs and bike rides, to going to concerts, to volunteering, to even going to the UU church a couple times and usually the whole thing comes to a crashing halt once they find out the type of life I live and can never make it past the first few dates.
This may sound crazy, but I have not been enthusiastic about dating in years tbh and am more passionate about my career, travel, reading, craft beer, and my artwork than dating so maybe that also rubs women a certain way (I just don't know anymore). I find myself increasingly taking flights to see Asheville, Germany, and Savannah family and flights/car rentals to see friends in Charlotte just to be around like minded people in my life that I love and like spending time with. I have none of that in Lynchburg, but I have already invested so much in my condo and career here it is hard to move. Any thoughts on if I should try my luck in a different city or maybe go with this new job and maybe the extra boost in income will help broaden my horrizon and confidence. And yes I totally realize I am a bit set it my ways and stubborn when it comes to how a live my life.
Anyway thanks bearing through my life story and offering any feedback!

2020.09.09 23:09 dayoffthrowaway1 27 [M4F] #Atlanta - casual companionship?

Missing human interaction during the pandemic? Me too, so let's figure out a way to make it a little easier on each other. This probably starts with just having some fun together, and then enjoying each other's physical presence.
I'm recently single and don't want a ton of commitment right now, so I'm looking for anything from a cuddle buddy to a fwb. This also includes casual dating, netflix and chilling, or just someone to make out with occassionally. However, since there's a pandemic going on, I'm not jumping to anything right off the bat. I want to keep things online first, so be prepared for a meme exchange or 2.
I'm not going to give too much of myself away just yet, but I'm a nerdy, relaxed, liberal, bearded white guy (if there weren't enough of those already). Enjoy all types of games and art and trying stuff outdoors.
What I need from you is a commitment to wearing a mask in public, generally liberal politics, and at least a tolerance for nerdiness. At some point, we probably will exchange pics as well, but that's when we're ready.
Hope to hear from you and get to know each other!

Neo-Atheists, Atheists, militant Atheism and everything in between: Caged by Abrahamic Monotheism
Nupur J Sharma 7 September, 2020
Before we proceed further, there are two things that ought to be stated outright. Firstly, the purpose of this article is not to encourage desecration of the Quran or any other Islamic scriptures or doctrine. The sole purpose is to provide an understanding of the core matter at hand, in light of the online battle between ex-Muslims and Hindus. And secondly, most obviously, the author does not believe that all Muslims are Jihadis or terrorists. Now that we are done with formalities, let us jump straight to the matter.
Steven Weinberg, the great American physicist and a Nobel laureate, once remarked, “With or without religion, good people can behave well and bad people can do evil, but for good people to do evil – that takes religion” and since then, this quote has almost been weaponised by Atheists around the world to condemn religion as an outdated concept that is using violence to maintain its relevance in a world that has outgrown the need or the desire for its tenets.
The New Atheism movement started in the mid-2000s with the ‘four horsemen for Atheism’ – Richard Dawkins, Christopher Hitchens, Daniel Dennett, and Sam Harris – gaining immense popularity. The core tenet of New Atheism is that religion was created in an attempt to explain how the world works at a time when science had hardly made the leaps that it has today. Thus, at a time when science has progressed, religion’s validity has expired, so to speak. There are several other claims that New Atheists make which we will examine in the course of this article, however, the central theme remains constant – Religion, any religion, has outlived its validity.
The New Atheism movement, however, ushered in another remarkable trend. It essentially espoused that being an Atheist was not sufficient. Atheists must ‘scientifically’ counter the theists and expose their dogmatic ways wherever they are found.
What started off as an attempt to infuse scientific discourse and composed debate on the question of Religion, soon became a free-for-all with the influx of several ex-Muslims, like Armin Navabi, Harris Sultan and others, who simply assumed that the function of Atheism was ‘desecration’ without the consideration that criticism for every religion would have to differ based on the genesis, nature and context of that specific religion itself.
Armin Navabi, Iranian Ex-Muslim who is now an Atheist first tore up and spat on the Quran. Following the support he got from Hindus, he proceeded to willfully desecrate the Hindu faith. The underlying reason for doing this, per Armin, was that all faiths should be desecrated equally, however, that is not where this saga began.
It has already been established that the saga of desecrating the Hindu faith started with another ex-Muslim, Abdullah Sameer, shielding the Muslim community after the Sweden and Norway riots, getting called out by Robert Spencer and then, proceeding to draw a false equivalence between Hindus (who were calling him out online) and Muslims (who were burning the world).
Soon, after the spat between Robert Spencer and Abdullah Sameer, Sameer started posting offensive images of Hindu Goddess Kali. Along with him, several other ex-Muslims like Harris Sultan and Armin Navabi started talking about how Hindus are just as bad as Muslims because they were calling them out on Twitter. On the 3rd of September, Armin took things a step further and shared the same image of Maa Kali.
Only a couple of hours before posting this distorted picture which showed Goddess Kali in a sexual epithet, Armin was retweeting and talking about the #DesecrateTheQuran hashtag.
Given how this spat started, one can easily assume that this entire episode was orchestrated to falsely equate Hindus and Muslims post the Sweden and Norway riots by the Muslims. However, for the purpose of this article, I will not be delving into that aspect. What needs to be analysed, however, is the surmise that gives rise to the notion that desecration of all faiths, in equal measure, is a desirable outcome of Atheism.
It is in this spirit, that Harris Sultan, while speaking to ‘Hindu Atheist’ Kushal Mehra question OpIndia for covering Armin’s desecration of the Quran but being silent or even outraged, by his desecration of the Hindu faith.
At the heart of it, is the supposition that all religions are equal and thus, all religions should be desecrated equally and it is this ill-informed position that needs to be challenged.
Dissecting the ‘All religions are equal’ claim The notion does not really stem from Atheism itself but the notions of religious pluralism that assumes that not only do all religions claim that their truth is the ‘only truth’ that exists, but that all religions are based on the principles of Universal Truths and thus, these are the two tenets that need to be dealt with if religions are to co-exist peacefully.
Religious Pluralism essentially says that firstly, all religions must acknowledge that certain truths exist in other religions as well, thereby declaring that it is not only their own religion that is the ‘only truth’. Further, it says that all religions must acknowledge that every religion teaches basic universal truths that have been taught since before the advent of religion itself.
When one delves into the principles of religious pluralism as a construct that can enable religions co-existing without sectarian violence, it becomes important to ensure that all religions are brought down to the same surface level and hence, the claim that all religions are the same takes a beastly proportion where cultural context is often lost.
For the purpose of this article, we will focus on Islam, Christianity and Hinduism since the question we eventually want to answer is- why is it permissible to desecrate Islam and not desecrate Hinduism?
At the very outset, it suffices to say that no other religion in the world, at this point of time in history, lays out a doctrine for the torture, subjugation, conversion and humiliation of all the people who refuse to believe in their faith, other than Islam.
This question of whether all religions are equal and whether Islam is inherently a religion of peace was discussed at length in an interview with Jihad Watch Director Robert Spencer. He said in the interview that Islam as a religion indoctrinates its adherents to slay the Kafirs where they see them. They lay out the doctrine for religious warfare and strict rules as to what is to be done with the ‘spoils of war’.
No other religion in the world has left behind a trail of mangled bodies, blood and gore in its wake as much as Islam and what is worse is that this carnage was sanctified in their religion, in fact, it is one of the necessities of their religion. Moral relativists and apologists of Islam often say that Islam is a religion of peace and it is its adherents who have distorted the peaceful version of Islam.
They also say that the Quran is a peaceful text that essentially takes people closer to universal truths, just as other religions do, but it is the Hadith that twists the meaning of the Quran and ebbs people to commit violence in its name. None of these claims hold scrutiny, according to Spencer, since there exists no version of Islam that does not lay out a doctrine for the subjugation of Kafirs. In the interview, Spencer quoted verses of the Quran that themselves asked Muslims to slay the Kafirs and strike their neck.
As Mr Spencer talks about the verses of the Quran that ordain its followers to slay Kafirs and Polytheists, one has to wonder how can a religion that is at odds with Polytheism be equal and aspires for the same goals as that of a Polytheistic religion? When Islam is at odds with Polytheism and the religious texts explicitly mention the subjugation of any Polytheist faith, how accurate is it to say that all religions are exactly the same since neither Christianity (which is also an Abrahamic religion) or Hinduism (which is a polytheistic religion) say anything that remotely resembles Islam.
We can further classify this argument between Abrahamic faiths and Polytheistic faiths. In the conversation with Robert Spencer, it was clear why Islam took over 500 years to find footing in India and countries like Europe fell to the onslaught of Islam far quicker than India. The Quran presents itself as completion and correction of Christianity, said Spencer, which also gives us a window into just how vast the difference between the Hindu faith and Islam/Christianity really is.
Hence, to essentially say that all religions are equal and aspire towards the same universal truths is a fallacious statement that is made by the people who either harbour malice, or ignorance.
What the desecration of the image of Maa Kali meant for Hindus A familiar grouse that was expressed by the Neo-Atheists is why Hindus were celebrating the desecration of the Quran while they felt outraged when Armin Navabi desecrated the Hindu faith by sexualising Maa Kali. The underlying issue with this question that seems to baffle the Ex-Muslim Atheists is that they, almost militantly, follow the tenet that all religions are the same, a question, that we have debunked earlier in this article.
When we have concluded, with adequate proof, that all religions are indeed not the same, one has to then understand the cultural context to truly understand why Hindus were celebratory, or even supportive, when ex-Muslim Atheists desecrated Islam and went after the same Atheists when they sexualised Kali.
From what I understand, the backlash against Armin Navabi first started with him sharing the sexualised images of Maa Kali and was exacerbated with his follow-up tweet that essentially told Hindus to put Maa Kali in a Burkha if her sexualisation was offending them.
What Armin did was to reduce the divine, with no provocation whatsoever, to a basal, human upheaval of hormones. To ask Hindus whether they would want to masturbate to a deity they consider their mother or even say that he “simps for Kali” which essentially means that he would put the deity on a pedestal to get sexual favours in return. This tirade did not come from a place of understanding but from a place of militancy of thought that had no cultural context whatsoever.
When they ask “how is the desecration of the Quran different from the desecration of Maa Kali”, the simple fact remains that the ex-Muslims grew up in a household that deeply believed in the tenets of Islam, as per their own confessions. Their draw towards Atheism or even anti-theism comes from being told that if they do not follow exactly what the Quran says, they will go to hell.
Or that apostates deserve death and if they do not follow the tenets of the Quran, they too, like apostates would deserve death. From being told that women don’t deserve respect or can even be beaten up because the religion accords a sub-human position to women. It is a faith that is largely considered the root of violence and militancy across the world, a faith that has claimed countless lives in order to stay relevant in the modern age.
Hence, since their anti-theism or atheism comes from their experience of religion growing up in a household that followed Islam, they understand what they are desecrating, to begin with. They know, that when they tear the Islamic scripture, what is the extent of the ideology and what those pages say, in very specific terms.
However, for most monotheists, barring a few who can be debated on their ideas of universal truths and not just anti-theism, the idea of Hinduism is too abstract to even understand what the religion’s basic tenets are. This was, in fact, admitted by Navabi himself in a podcast he did a year ago. How then is it acceptable to critique a religion one doesn’t understand simply because it is a religion and the anti-theist believes in the desecration of all religions, even though they are by no way equal.
Further, what the western anti-theists and atheists, a significant chunk of them being ex-Muslims, don’t understand is that there is a cultural context to the outrage of Hindus. For thousands of years, Hindus have been subjugated by the Islamist invaders who have raped Hindu women, beheaded our kings, murdered our children all for the ultimate goal of the establishment of the Caliphate. There are countless tales of how the Islamic invaders murdered Hindus and kept their wives, mothers and daughters as slaves – the spoils of war.
The barbarity was so perverse, that Hindu women often chose to jump into the fire and give up their lives after Hindus were defeated in war, lest they were taken slaves by Islamic invaders. You might wonder why they didn’t simply slit their wrists instead of stepping into the burning fire – well – they did not want their corpse to be desecrated by the followers of Islam who had laid siege on their land.
The brutality is not just limited to Islamic invaders. In the modern political landscape of India, Hindus were humiliated during the partition as well. One recalls how the Khilafat movement claimed the lives of countless Hindus during the Moplah massacres by Islamists and even the Direct Action Day, spearheaded by Jinnah. After the countless deaths of Hindus, our own, MK Gandhi, asked Hindus to simply lay down their lives if the Islamists chose to claim it.
During partition, Hindus were mutilated and their women raped. At the altar of ‘secularism’, which the Atheists love to espouse, India decided to not conduct a full exchange of population, a suggestion that was made by various luminaries at the time including Dr B.R. Ambedkar, and thus, began another cycle of subjugation in modern India. This year itself, we saw riots by sections of the Muslim community and aided by the Left against the Hindus.
The saga of brutality continues to this day not just in India, but also, against the minority Hindus of Pakistan and when India decided that the minority Hindus could take refuge in India, their natural home post-partition, the Islamists ran riots yet again. They stabbed a Hindu over 50 times simply because he was Hindu and chopped off the arms and legs of another before burning him alive.
Since the Atheists and anti-theists love to ally with the Left, the obvious question that will be thrown after reading this article is – what about the Muslims who died? Let me preempt that question and say that in every war, both sides suffer losses, but war is defined by those who start the war, and Hindus, have never started one.
With centuries of subjugation behind them, when Armin says that Hindus must put their Goddess in a Hijab if they are offended by the cheap sexualisation, he triggers an all-too-familiar sentiment – convert or die, worse, be raped.
For centuries, whether they were Islamic invaders, or the Muslims post-partition of Pakistan and Bangladesh, the domestic Muslims who still employ this tactic or even the Muslims of Pakistan who till date subjugate Hindus, this trope has been used to humiliate Hindu women and their faith. For centuries, these were the options given to Hindu women by Islamist barbarians – wear a Burkha, convert to Islam or be raped or killed.
This is exactly the sentiment that was invoked by Armin – He essentially said that he will reduce our Goddess to an object of cheap titillation, a disrobed woman, humiliated because he can. And if Hindus did not want him to cheapen their mother, they should make her wear a Hijab.
While it is unclear that this was the intent or not, however, it is clear that internalised misogyny, Hinduphobia, hate for Idolatory and the unbridled urge for the subjugation of Kafirs is so strong, that even after leaving the faith, the barbarism towards polytheists remains.
Hindus saw what Armin did as not just the humiliation of their deity, but also Iconoclasm that the community is far too familiar with. For the Hindu, there is absolutely no difference between their Idols being desecrated by the Islamic hoards and being buried in the steps of a mosque, their Ram Temple being demolished by invaders to build a Mosque and then deny them their rights and what Armin did. Essentially, it was an outsider, an Islamist, perhaps, who desecrated their faith and presented the remains as an offering at the foot of Abrahamism.
One simple account of the hatred Muslims had for idolators comes from a poetic account of what Ahmad Shah did at Sidhpur, available in Mirat-i-Sikandari, the history of Gujarat, written by Sikandar ibn-i-Muhammad alias Manjhu ibn-i-Akbar in the first quarter of the sixteenth century. He marched on Saiyidpur,— writes the historian, on Jamad-ul-Awwal in AH 818 (July/August, AD 1415) in order to destroy the temples which housed idols of gold and silver.
As quoted by Sita Ram Goel in his book, ‘Hindu Temples’, the poetic account is as below:
He marched under divine inspiration, For the destruction of temples at Saiyidpur, Which was a home of the infidels, And the native place of accursed fire-worshippers.— There they dwelt, day and night, The thread-wearing idolaters.— It had always remained a place for idols and idol-worshippers, It had received no injury whatsoever from any quarter. It was a populous place, well-known in the world, This native place of the accursed infidels. Its foundations were laid firmly in stone, It was decorated with designs as if drawn from high heaven. It had doors made of sandal and ud.— It was studded with rings of gold, Its floors were laid with marble, Which shone like mirrors. Ud was burnt in it like fuel, Candles of camphor in large numbers were lighted in it. It had arches in every comer, And every arch had golden chandeliers hanging in it. There were idols of silver set up inside, Which put to shame the idols of China and Khotan. Such was this famous ancient temple, It was famous all over the world. By the effort of Ahmad, it was freed from the idols, The hearts of idol-worshippers were shattered with grief. He got mosques constructed, and mimbars placed in them, From where the Law of Muhammad came into force. In place of idols, idol-makers and idol-worshippers, Imams and callers to prayers and khatibs were appointed. Ahmads good grace rendered such help, That an idol-house became an abode of Allah. When the Sultan was free from Saiyidpur, he marched on Dhar in AH 819 (AD 1416-17).
One has to understand that for a Hindu, what Islamic invaders did to their temples and their idols is no different from what Armin Navani or any of the other ex-Muslim Atheists did to the image of Maa Kali. In both cases, the iconoclasm was exactly the same. In both cases, the followers of Abrahamic religion (yes, Atheist is also an Abrahamic, Monotheistic religion, which I will explain later in the article), desecrated the idol that they sacred. An idol and a faith that did absolutely nothing to deserve the kind of humiliation that it received except the fact that it chose to exist and fought, fiercely, the attempts to convert.
The urge to desecrate Hindu idols comes from the basic contradiction between Hinduism and other monotheistic religions. The icons of Hinduism are expressionist while the monotheistic religions are mostly suppressionist. While Islam and Christianity are political ideologies, Hinduism is that which depends on its adherent’s experience and spirituality. While all you need to understand and even criticise Islam and Christianity is a study of their text, what you need to criticise Hinduism is experiencing and ultimately, working up to understanding its scriptures.
While Christianity and Islam focus on a binary value system, Hinduism has multitudes of value systems that can even be at odds with each other. That Islam and Christianity both function on the basic premise that any human emotion is to be suppressed, Hinduism believes that it is to be celebrated and expressed, and it is this expressionism and the lack of binary value systems that Abrahamics find so difficult to rationalise.
The binary model simply does not work with Hinduism and thus, the frustrations of a suppressive culture is often expressed by desecrating symbols of an expressionist, spiritual religion.
Essentially, when Hindus say that Abrahamics do not understand Hinduism enough to criticise it, they mean that until they have gone through the experience of being Hindu, there is no text that they can read and claim proficiency in the religion, unlike Islam and Christianity. To top it all, other than the painful ignorance of Hinduism itself, the Atheists and anti-theists who have denounced Islam do not understand the cultural context of the Hindu communities struggle with Iconoclasm and thus, have not the faintest idea of the scars that have been inflicted time and again.
For a Hindu, an Atheist is only deepening the scars left by the religion they claim to have denounced. For a Hindu, what the Atheist does is no different from what the adherents of Islam did to his idols and temples. And this cultural context cannot be ignored simply by repeating the “all religions are equal” trope, because they are certainly not.
Why Hindus endorse desecration of Islam but not of Hinduism 20-year-old Yazidi girl Israa, who had been rescued from ISIS, burnt her hijab as she was surrounded by the Kurdish forces in 2019. The image, that powerful image, became one of the symbols of resistance against the Islamic forces.
Israa is helped by female Kurdish fighters after being released from IS fighters (Image source: metro.uk) In her interview, she had said that she felt suffocated the first time she was asked to wear it and she wished she could burn the ISIS terrorists just like she burnt her hijab.
Why did Israa feel suffocated with the Hijab and why was burning that Hijab such a powerful sentiment for her? For that matter, why is burning the image of Adolf Hitler such a powerful image for Jews? Why does a Yazidi celebrate when symbols of her oppression are destroyed?
Because the hijab symbolises and is a manifestation of her oppression. Her scars. It symbolises the very people who took away her dignity, her faith, her family, her community, her temple, her everything. It is a symbol of those who pushed her and her family to darkness. It is a symbol of those who she wishes to destroy, not because she hates Muslims, but because the staunchest followers of Islam destroyed her life and desecrated on everything she and her ancestors held dear.
Given the history of Hindus and their subjugation by Islamists, the sentiment mirrors that of Yazidis. When symbols of oppression are destroyed, Hindus are bound to support that as an act of defiance. It becomes even more pronounced when that destruction of oppressive symbols comes from those who claim to have left the faith of Islam.
It is essentially seen as a validation of vindication of their pain. The reason why Armin got support and coverage when he desecrated the Quran is for the very reason that a Yazidi woman would burn her Hijab or be jubilant when someone else does. It was a destruction of the symbol of centuries of oppression. It was an act of defiance, the same defiance felt by Hindus. It validated the angst felt by Hindus.
Now, imagine claiming that the destruction of the Hijab by a Yazidi is the same as the destruction of the symbols of Yazidism. While Islamists consider Yazidis as devil worshippers, would it be fair to assume if a Yazidi is happy about the destruction of the Quran or even that of the Hijab, she has to mandatorily be accepting of the destruction of her faith when has done nothing to receive that ire?
This analogy is exactly what is needed to understand why Hindus supported the desecration of the Quran by Armin and not the desecration of Maa Kali. Hindus saw their vindication in an ex-Muslim recognising that Islam is a religion that has the potential to subjugate non-believers because that premise has been responsible for their own humiliation for centuries.
On top of that, it helped them reinforce that what the Left has been telling them to almost gaslight them, about Islam being a religion of peace is not true – and this came not just from Hindus, who were the victims, but also people who used to be Muslims and have since left the faith.
Then came the inexplicable desecration of Maa Kali and it jolted Hindus from their stupor. They wondered why an Atheist ex-Muslim would desecrate their faith when they had done nothing to deserve that ire. Armin tore the Quran because his experiences taught him that he did not want to endorse the ideology in the Book. What was his experience with Hinduism that drove him to desecrate Hinduism? Nothing except the notion that all religions are equal.
Hindus would endorse the desecration of the faith that subjugated them and reject the desecration of their own faith that has been subjugated by the oppressor.
Interestingly, Atheists seem to not have the bandwidth to grasp the fact that by desecrating Hinduism, they have only cut the branch that they were sitting on.
Their aim in desecrating Islam was that its tenets are inconsistent with the modern age values that the world espouses. However, one of the tenets is to slay polytheistic religions and as a result of that, idols are desecrated. Essentially, the Atheists ex-Muslims seem to have done exactly what their erstwhile religion ordained them to do, it was only cloaked with Atheism and not Islamism.
The ire of Hindus was expected, and necessary because for far too long, their faith has been desecrated for no fault of theirs, simply because the Abrahamics cannot accept polytheistic faiths. Saying ‘enough is enough’ is important.
The shaming of Hindus when they voiced their disgust We have already established why Hindus were disgusted and outraged at the conduct of Atheists against Hinduism and the depiction of Maa Kali, however, what was more unpalatable is the response of the Atheists, ex-Muslims and Hindus to that outage. Outright, Hindus were labelled “just as bad as Jihadis” for protesting against the blatant disrespect for their faith, for no good reason.
What is essentially wrong with this assertion is that first, the ex-Muslim atheists and Liberal Hindus were trying, rather hard, to draw a false equivalence between Hindus and Muslims. That is almost the same as drawing an equivalence between Jews and Nazis when a Jew criticises the desecration of its faith by ex-Nazis. Or saying that a Yazidi is “as bad” as an ISIS terrorist because they differentiate between the burning of the Hijab and the ruination of her faith by the very people who enslaved her.
What the Atheists and Liberal Hindus essentially wanted was to submit to the whims of those who clearly have no idea of the cultural context of Hindus or worse, know and don’t care. Personally, I believe it is the second because I have seen several videos where these ex-Muslims discuss Hinduism and I find it hard to believe that they would have no idea of the cultural context.
Essentially, the Atheists ex-Muslims and Liberal Hindus wanted Hindus to submit to the desecration of their faith, quietly, demurely, or they threatened to label them just as bad the very people who raped, subjugated, murdered and forcefully converted them to Islam. The manipulation in this tactic is staggering.
Essentially, this is akin to telling a victim that she must not voice her opposition to what the perpetrator did against her or she will become just as bad as the perpetrator himself and because the victim harbours such visceral hate for everything that her perpetrator stands for, she would somehow be brainwashed and gaslighted into silence.
The debauchery of this argument was further exposed when some of the Hindus started telling their fellow Hindus that Hinduism is a tolerant religion and hence, any and all desecration must not be responded to aggressively. What they wanted to tell Hindus is that they should accept the desecration of their faith to display how tolerant they and that if they don’t, even their words of protest would be right compared to those who were murdering and burning down entire cities because they were offended.
Perhaps the overtly erudite Ex-Muslims and Hindu Atheists and liberal Hindus need to pay attention and read Karl Popper. He says:
“Less well known is the paradox of tolerance: Unlimited tolerance must lead to the disappearance of tolerance. If we extend unlimited tolerance even to those who are intolerant, if we are not prepared to defend a tolerant society against the onslaught of the intolerant, then the tolerant will be destroyed, and tolerance with them.—In this formulation, I do not imply, for instance, that we should always suppress the utterance of intolerant philosophies; as long as we can counter them by rational argument and keep them in check by public opinion, suppression would certainly be most unwise. But we should claim the right to suppress them if necessary even by force; for it may easily turn out that they are not prepared to meet us on the level of rational argument, but begin by denouncing all argument; they may forbid their followers to listen to rational argument, because it is deceptive, and teach them to answer arguments by the use of their fists or pistols. We should therefore claim, in the name of tolerance, the right not to tolerate the intolerant“.
Popper’s Paradox of Tolerance is an apt description of what Abrahamics and Liberal Hindus want pious Hindus to follow. Essentially, these elements want Hindus to be tolerant to a level where the intolerant reign over the tolerant and the tolerant espoused by Hindus dies along with them. Certainly, one can see how that is a principle that has never been one that can be followed without the complete annihilation of the community that wishes to be tolerant to the level of their own destruction.
It is essential to understand here that Islam took over 500 years to find footing in India because of the deep faith that Hindus held. Despite the barbarity heaped upon them, they refused to submit to the rule of Islam and held on to their faith despite all odds. When the Liberal Hindu and ex-Muslim Atheists want Hindus to inexplicably let go of that faith in the name of tolerance, what they do is create a situation where they leave the faith open to the onslaught of Abrahamics – the intolerant.
Does the last standing major pagan religion in the world deserve to be annihilated on the basis of hollow principles like tolerance? This is a question that Hindus need to ask themselves without consideration for what Abrahamics believe they should do. But under no circumstances should Hindus be played by moral pleas of tolerance and in no manner, should they be manipulated to believe that their words can be deemed just as violent as rampaging mobs burning the world down.
Freedom of Speech – The hypocrisy of it all Neo-Atheism and especially, those by Ex-Muslims and Ex-Christians are essentially based on two concepts that they consider the axiomatic truths – Universal value system and binary value system, as discussed before, that draws heavily from the Enlightenment philosophy. Essentially, this means that Atheists believe that there are certain universal value systems that are to be accepted without any question. Individual rights, the dominance of man over nature, freedom of expression, overt reliance on logic and essentially, rejecting everything that is not “real”. The binary logic sees everything in black and white and is a concept of absolutism.
Essentially, Atheism gives no room for any deviation from what it believes to be the ultimate truth and/or the ultimate value that is to be espoused. When ex-Muslims criticise Islam for its dogmatic practises, they must essentially declare that all religions are to be treated the exact same way since their binary logic does not allow them to understand a construct where a religion like Hinduism can have multitudes of value systems.
When they talk about freedom of expression, they must be absolutists because any limitation means that they are being thoroughly non-binary. For Atheists, they must desecrate Hinduism if they desecrate Islam because since one religion is problematic, all religions must be equally problematic. If one religion has Jihadis who burn the world down, the other must also have the same kind of adherents even though there is no empirical evidence to prove the hypothesis.
The beliefs of Liberalism and Atheism come from the enlightenment age which had no scope for the understanding of Hinduism since it was aimed at overthrowing the dogmatic Church. Thus, Hinduism and its criticism thereof simply remains a product of the Abrahamic lens that is donned by Liberals and Atheists without really the consideration that none of these principles applies in totality to Sanatan Dharma.
In that sense of absolutism, freedom of speech and expression is also meant to be absolute according to most liberals and atheists, however, just as any absolute ideology, this too suffers from its inherent hypocrisies.
Every culture has its natural limits to freedom of expression that draws from the cultural context of that particular society. For example, one would not go to Israel and name their child Adolf Hitler because there is a contextual limit to FoE that comes into play. Similarly, one would not use the “N-word” in the USA because attached to it are tales of suppression and one has to give due importance to the cultural and societal context before being an absolutist as far as FoE is concerned.
This was proved remarkably well when in a podcast by Kushal Mehra, who calls himself a Hindu Atheist, three ex-Muslims refused to use the “N-word” even when the subject came up. The ex-Muslims on that podcast included Harris Sultan who is now equating Hindus to Jihadis because they would not roll over and accept the desecration of their harmless faith.
If Harris Sultan was indeed an absolutist when it came to freedom of speech, he should have ideally had no problem with using the N-word rather openly. He did not because Sultan seems to be more clued in and respectful of the cultural context of the country he lives in and more importantly, the culture he has adopted as his own.
Extending the same rationale, one has to question the Atheists that if they would not demand absolute FoE to use the “N-word” because of the history of subjugation attached to that word or would not expect a Jew to ‘tolerate’ anyone ‘hailing Hitler’, why would they then expect unbridled and unrestricted freedom of expression when talking about Hinduism?
If these ex-Muslims would not call Jews ‘just as bad as the Nazis’ for voicing their exception to their faith being desecrated in the same manner as Hitler did, why would they say that Hindus are as bad as the Jihadis when Hindus were voicing their exception to their faith being desecrated in the exact same manner as the Jihadis did?
To take this a step further, their wails of ‘freedom of expression’ became a loud shriek and words such as ‘Mujahindus’, drawing an equivalence with Mujahideen, were thrown about. Atheists posture as the arbiters of morality but here they are, conflating people trolling a person on social media with cast distance between them with actual terrorists. Speech is now violence we are to believe. And such people pretend to be FoE absolutists.
Abhijit Iyer Mitra calls Hindus opposing the sexualising of Maa Kali ‘Mujahindus’. The amusing aspect of this is the fact that Abhijit Iyer-Mitra himself does not hesitate to abuse the parents of individuals he disagrees with. Coming from him, it is especially difficult to accept such an argument. The other argument, presented by Kushal Mehra is that people in India do not understand how neo-atheists in the West operate.
I humbly disagree with that assertion. We understand perfectly how neo-atheists operate in the West. Neo-atheists in western countries are overwhelmingly oriented towards the Left and suffer from delusions of their own. In the current context, just because they get a kick out of abusing our Gods, it does not mean that a deliberate provocation ought to go unchallenged.
There also seems to be an insinuation that Hindus ought to be fearful of the mockery neo-atheists are capable of. With due regards, there is absolutely no reason for us to be fearful of them. Instead, they are the ones who ought to be careful with regards to the manner in which they use their speech. One does not know when cancel culture strikes them down. Also, Abhijit Iyer-Mitra and Kushal Mehra are good friends of mine but I am extremely disappointed with their ideological stance on the current debate revolving around atheism and freedom of expression.
The hypocrisy of Harris Sultan is particularly astounding. He was recently threatened by a Muslim for his criticism of Islam. The offended Muslim had actually threatened to hurt Sultan’s family and had made it clear that he was aware of the atheist’s address. Hindus have done no such thing. Harris Sultan has personal knowledge of the fact that Hindus and radical Muslims are not the same. Even so, even he peddles the delusion of equivalence between the two.
Why it is perfectly okay for Hindus to endorse desecration of Quran and oppose abuse of Hindu Gods At the very outset, it ought to be mentioned that the foremost loyalties of Hindus ought to lie with their Gods and Goddesses and not to concepts such as freedom of expression and other such things. It is perfectly permissible, even rational, for Hindus to not tolerate the abuse of the Devis and Devtas. There is no decree that FoE ought to be the foremost priority of Hindus.
Atheists might value FoE above all else, and we have already established that they are not the FoE absolutists they pretend to be, but Hindus are under no compulsion to prioritise FoE over their Gods and Goddesses. It is also perfectly rational for people to have one set of rules for the out-group and completely different for the in-group, there is nothing wrong with that.
Atheists do not have the authority to decide what is permissible and what is not. For them, insulting someone’s mother is crossing the line. We share the same sentiment. The only problem here is that we consider our Goddesses to be our mothers as well. Therefore, their insult towards our Goddesses invokes the same emotions in us that an insult to their mother evokes in them. They have no business dictating the relationship we share with our Gods and Goddesses.
It also ought to be mentioned that neo-atheism is intrinsically Abrahamic in its approach. It arises out of the enlightenment worldview that was ingrained in Abrahamic philosophy. It is no surprise then that modern atheism has a distinctly protestant approach to it. Furthermore, it also ought to be mentioned that the fervour with which modern atheists approach politics is the same as a devotee approaches religion.
Neo-atheists have merely substituted religion with the political ideology of their choice. Instead of proselytising on behalf of a religion, they proselytise to convert their people into their favoured political ideology. Instead of Gods and Goddesses, they want people to believe in absolute FoE, the rules of which they wish to dictate as the evidence clearly by the current saga, and the precepts of liberalism** ... continued in comments**

2020.09.07 10:45 owlsname 23 [M4F] #Boston/Cambridge looking for someone around my age to date

I'm a 23 year old cis hetero guy and I want to meet someone around my age to go on socially distant dates and see where it takes us. I'm primarily interested in dating and hopefully finding a relationship. But, as long as we're both upfront about our intentions and are both on the same page I'm open to something else. I'm not necessarily looking for a physical connection immediately. I recognize that dating of any kind during a pandemic has risk so I want to make sure we're taking steps to mitigate our odds of spreading COVID around.
I'd like to chat online for a week or so. I want us to learn more about each other before meeting. Once we both think we're game to meet then we could really do whatever for a date, get drinks, eat at a restaurant, go biking. I've only ever responded to posts on this sub so I really don't know how posting will go. Please do not be offended if I assume all responses are catfishes until proven otherwise and I will be interacting with all applicable scrutiny.
Now that you know what I'm here for, here's who I am! I am a recent-ish grad of a liberal arts college in Boston. I graduated with a Major in Computer Science and two minors in Drama and Dance. Now I work a CS job in the area. I work in Cyber Security and I love my job. I can and will talk for hours about how Tik Tok harvests your data or how cross site scripting works if you're interested enough to ask. In College I did shows, plays and musicals. Most of my best memories from school are from performances or rehearsals.
I am short, 5'7", pretty fit, and have a nice face. My current hobbies are video games, running, and cycling. I lifted throughout college, but after constant struggles with back pain and general burnout I switched from going to the gym to going out for runs. I've been running about 4-2 times a week since May. It's made me feel a lot better since quarantine started. And, I've also been able to improve my own body confidence a lot. When I have extra time I love to go for a nice long bikeride down the minuteman trail or by the Charles. Making sure I'm staying fit and eating well is really important to me.
I also love video games. I love games of all types really, sports, boardgames, and especially video games. I've played them my whole life. The first game I ever owned was pokemon silver on the gameboy color. Now, I mainly play fps on my computer, Overwatch is my favorite. I'm not afraid to take it way too seriously, I'm really competitive so the harder I try the more fun I have. But I'll also fool around on anything else my friends want to play.
I live to laugh, play, and goof around. I'm happiest when I'm around people who make me laugh (it's pretty easy to do). I'm generally a pretty joyful and easy going person. But if something is making me upset or I think something is unfair I will let people know and maybe go off about it. My pet peeves are poorly designed user interfaces and when people call "North American Bison" "Buffalo" even though they are completely different animals from completely different continents.
I'm a white, cis, hetero, male. I'm generally attracted to fem folk, but if you're nonbinary and you are interested and want to know more about me then by all means send it. And of course people of any race or religion are welcome. Mutual physical attraction is kind of critical for this relationship. I'm not out of my mind with standards or anything. Obviously, it varies person by person but I'm sure if you have a similar level of activity and lifestyle to my own we'll be fine. Maybe we could even go biking, running or climbing as a date!
Message/Chat me. We can exchange proof we are who we say we are and start chatting! I am looking for a relationship in the long term. In the short term, I just want to have fun, go on dates, and flirt with someone. I haven't been lonely per say, but I'm craving romance in my life. I'm looking on Reddit because I feel like people are more authentic on reddit than on any of the dating apps. This is a throwaway account, obviously, but upon request I'll certainly point you towards my main browsing account so you can see more about who I am.

2020.09.07 08:43 highlvlproblemsolver Introduction Post + Question For Community 24m

Good evening RP Christians.
This is my introduction post to the sub. I have lurked for some time, and have been a follower of Jesus Christ since the summer of 2017. I was in the main RP subreddit since 2016 and had followed much of their advice regarding personal improvement, but since coming to faith I've found that I'd like to focus on growing into the image of God, the highest ideal that exists. I have a few parts of my life figured out, a few others not figured out. Hoping to be active and learn and grow with you all.
Stats:
6'4 210lbs, BF% around 20%. Lifts: BP 200lbs, DL 405lbs, OHP 105lbs, Squat 215lbs. Lifts will be much higher in the coming months as I've been slowly working my way back from a knee injury.
Reading:
The Bible on most weekdays + some scripture reading on the weekends. Not much of the other material. However, I've read other RP related books like 12 Rules For Life from JP which has a heavy emphasis on Biblical teachings and their manifestation within everyday life. Other books I've read in 2020 include The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck and Models both by Mark Manson, No More Mr. Nice Guy, 48 Laws of Power by Robert Greene, How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie, etc.
Finances:
Currently still in college with 2 years left but working full-time in digital advertising at the same time. When I graduate, I'll be a software developer, hopefully at the same company where the whole upper-management are Christians and make a point to talk about their faith publically despite it not being a "PC" topic in our part of the world. (West Coast). Currently have zero debt, and have $15k in savings (this is my Baby Step 3 for the Dave Ramsey people in here), and have another $11k in stocks (mostly Index funds with some blue-chip stocks thrown in). Working through Dave Ramsey's Baby Steps, and now I'm in steps 4, 5, 6 which is to invest 15% of my income, save for children's college fund, and pay off house (I don't have a house yet so I'm saving for one). Practicing delayed gratification here so that I can set myself up to do great things in the future in terms of providing for myself, my family + being outrageously generous.
Spiritual:
I pray daily. My morning routine now includes taking freezing showers in addition to my stretching + Bible reading prior to starting work. I have memorized some scripture (primarily due to my family being non-believers and coming to me with basic apologetics questions which I've researched and memorized as a result.) Through the period that I was SUPER into Apologetics, watching videos 24/7 on the subject (primarily towards Atheists and Muslims) I learned quite a bit. It helps in some sense that I speak Arabic and can read the Quran in its original language for the purpose of Apologetics. Currently taking a college class on Biblical Hebrew (MAN IS IT FREAKING HARD) because I need a language credit and saw the subject available as a once in a lifetime opportunity.
I'm not currently a part of a church and have found that the church I previously attended is perhaps not the best environment for me. It was a mega-church where the Pastor makes millions of dollars and is on the field for the local NFL team, and is a legitimate "celebrity Pastor". The worship team is absolutely incredible, I had some good friends there as well, it was my first church, but I plan on moving to another church because I've had some bad experiences with folks there that I felt were fake and quite honestly the definition of "Churchianity" and "Woke" as we are within one of the top two most liberal parts of the US.
Other:
When I'm not coding, in school, I'm into MMA and do a lot of Muay Thai/Western Boxing. When things return to normal I'm hoping to learn some kind of a grappling martial art in addition to the above.
My Question:
I'm currently 24 years old. Quite honestly, I haven't had a serious girlfriend before. I've kissed a few girls just because I thought they were beautiful, but they never ended up materializing into anything more. I've had a few girls say that I'm attractive (not to my face but my friends) after we've hung out in small groups. I never pursued these, as I felt they weren't really as (hate to sound vain here) but as beautiful as I would want. But apart from this, I feel like I've seriously wasted way too much time in not properly taking care of this area of my life and that I need to start meeting people ASAP.
Classic RP wisdom has told me "You're tall, strong and on your purpose, go cold approach 100 girls and get on online dating, you'll get at least 15-20 new girls this way and can filter out for LTRs as you gain experience."
I don't know if this is my faith speaking, or my own lack of courage in wanting to cold approach 100 people but it just doesn't seem like a great way to meet Christian girls that are serious about their faith. What would you all recommend/how did you married men find your wives for sorting out this area of life?
I'm open to all options. My thoughts are currently to get on some online Christian dating apps (I don't know any off the top of my head) and when churches open up again to be active in the community and make a point to go to every meetup, hang out and just meet people whilst being immersed in the community of God's family.
Let me know what you all think!

2020.09.07 08:20 adri0801 A Complete Guide for All Women Feeling Hopeless or Used (especially ages 27+)

I will attempt to keep this brief but will respond to any questions. I am blunt. If you are a person who gets their feelings hurt easy, you may want to scroll on. But if you scroll on, I can assure you are missing out.
I see a lot of girls on this and other subreddits that are upset with the way they are treated by men and/or feel like their chances of finding their forever person are fading away and cat lady life is on the horizon. I am here to tell you what you are doing wrong and what you can do to change and drastically increase your chances of finding your person.
The further you get into your 20s, and eventually 30s (oh god no, still single in my 30s?!), the more of an advantage guys have over women (To make things more simple, let’s call the age 27-35 the twilight age). This is for several reasons:
1) Many guys look good into their 40s. Some guys even peak in their mid-30s. This is hardly the case for women. I am sorry, but women tend to peak at 22-24. And for some poor girls, they peaked in high school (but do not feel bad for them, most of the girls who were hot in high school were jerks anyway). This allows men to feel more comfortable dating in the twilight years because they know they have time. Whereas for many women, the clock is ticking, it’s hard to keep it all as tight as it used to be. Women know this, and it hurts confidence.
2) That dang biological clock. If a woman [that wants to get married and have kid(s)] isn't married by the time she hits 28, she is doing some serious strategic planning. Thinking about how she is going to meet a guy, date for at least a year, have a long enough engagement, and maybe spend time along with the hubby all before getting pregnant. In 2020 not many women want to risk having children in their late 30s. This pressure is on women as they watch that hourglass go down, and it hurts confidence.
3) Sexual liberation vs feeling used, and the guy's perspective. In 2020 it is okay to go out and bang a different guy every weekend, right? Well of course you can, but I hope you aren't posting on Reddit about how you feel used afterward. You see we seem to be at a crossroads when what we really want is a roundabout. Over the past several years there have been movements to stop s-shaming etc, which is good! But I think that creates a confusing area for a lot of women.
A lot of women understand this. They know that if they start talking to a guy, have sex with him a week into it, that they shouldn't feel bad if he ghosts her. Obviously, the guy was there for sex, and the girl probably was too.
Where the problem lies is when a girl who wants a relationship sees all of this stuff online about sexual liberation, "it is okay to have sex!", etc, and puts herself in the same situation. The world is telling her it’s okay to go out and have sex. She does, and then just like above, the guy ghosts her. A lot of girls who aren't real savvy when it comes to dating have trouble understanding a conversation with a guy. You should be able to tell fairly early on when texting him if he is looking for a long-term relationship or a funk buddy. If you can't tell, PM me or leave a question below and I will explain.
The guy's perspective here? It’s a win/win. If a guy is talking to a girl and she is awesome! One of the most sophisticated and interesting people I have chatted with, has a great career (or great legitimate career potential), and to top it off is beautiful? I am going to keep this girl around for a while because she is wife material. I don't need to have sex with her right now because after I marry her we are going to be banging sunup to sundown.
Now if we are chatting for a while, she isn't that interesting, I know she isn't wife material, but she is decently attractive? Well now since I have invested some time into talking to her I can totally go "it." This typically leads to a girl upset on Reddit posting about how "things were going so well and then this happened.." Men are horny by nature and society has given men the go-ahead to rack up as many sexual encounters in their lives as humanly possible. This is the exact opposite for women, where although there have been major strides, if you tell Mr. Right that you have had sex with 40 men, [even if he doesn't verbalize this to you] he isn't going to be thrilled. But if he does it, it is okay. It is sexism, it still exists, and by the time you age out of your twilight years, it will still exist! So [unfortunately] get used to it, ladies.
4) Society tells us the guy can/should be older. What are the ages of your parents? Let me guess, Dad is older? Maybe even 5+ years older than Mom? This allows men to comfortable date through their twilight. As men get older, then can still [to an extent] date girls of a certain age. It isn't uncommon at all to see a 35-year-old man dating a 27-year-old woman. Or a 30-year-old man date 24-year-old woman. If a guy can date a 25-year-old girl, why is he going to want to date a 32-year-old? What does this mean for the twilight girls? They must compete with girls in their early-mid 20s and there are less available men.
Now if you are a girl who is looking for a serious relationship, twilight years or not, here is what you can do to improve your chances:
1) Have your stuff together. Nothing is more attractive to a guy (who is looking for a long term relationship) than a girl who has goals and is working toward the goals. If you are working a dead-end job, what are you doing to change that? Are you going back to school? Are you making a switch?
2) Do what you can to keep it tight. Workout a lot and eat healthy. Even if you are already happy with your body, eat healthy. No one wants to be around a slob. If working out or losing weight seems too overwhelming, do it anyway. I have seen girls in their early 30s lose TONS of weight. Guess what happens after they lose the weight; their dating prospects go way up! Way more guys are interested in you. Let that be your motivation. Also, exercise scientifically makes you a happier person.
3) Do what you need to take care of your mental health. Before you start looking for Mr. Right, make sure your head is in a good place. If you are coming out of a long-term relationship or are just not in a good place, take time for yourself. If there are negative people/influences in your life, get rid of them. This is easier said than done, but it is imperative for your wellbeing.
4) Travel, or at least go outside and do things. You need to get those dating profile photos of yourself in cool places anyway. If you can't afford to go on vacation, go on day trips or to parks and get the best photos of yourself that you can. Getting photos isn't the only plus here, this is sure to help with your mental health as well. Being in the sunlight will literally make you happier (and hopefully tan).
5) Think before you bang. If you are looking for a long-term relationship, how sure are you that the other person is as well? If a guy is serious about you, he isn't going to be deterred by the fact that you won't have sex with him for several months, or hell even until marriage. If you bang a guy too early, he may consider his quest complete and move on. If you don't have sex with him, you are sure to weed out the guys only looking to get freaky.
6) Be confident. Confidence is everything! I have dated [and even was married to] women who are WAY out of my league attraction-wise. But I always go in with my chin high, I shoot my shot, and more often than not it goes in because of how attractive confidence is. Guys can see your confidence level just as easy as they can see your forehead in that wonderful Tinder photo of yours at The Bean.
7) Speaking of Tinder, get off Tinder. It is 2020 and you should know that Tinder is not a legitimate place to find the love of your life. If you are looking to have genuine conversations with someone, connect with someone who is not just trying to do you as soon as they can, try a different dating app. I have personally had the most success with Hinge.
8) Take all the things I said in the first list above and forget them. Thinking about those things will only bring you down. You are a unique person and there are still millions and millions of fish in the sea. There is a person for you and if you do the things on this lower list, you are sure to find someone who will love and care for you until the end of time.
