Speaking at least two languages is a casualty in Morocco, and the most spoken languages are Moroccan Arabic, French, Spanish, and English. Morocco was occupied by the French and Spanish in the early 20th century, and many parts of the country are still attached, culturally, to what the Spaniards and French left behind them—not only the languages but customs, architectural buildings, and more! 2020.09.25 04:28 Red-Heat After the End CK3 Dev Diary 1: Overall Vision and Scope and Final CK2 Update

After the End CK3 Dev Diary 1: Overall Vision and Scope and Final CK2 Update
Good tidings, all!
I'm still on hiatus at the moment, but I thought I would take this time to tell you all about the direction we're taking for the CK3 version of the mod and the final changes we plan to make for the Fan Fork. As of right now, our working title is After the End CK3, but this is subject to change, as is everything else shown here. I'd like to get one thing out of the way as well - we do not have any release date projections right now. This project could release six months from now or six years from now. I really cannot say. Now then, onto the dev diary.
The Vision
After the End CK3 is not going to be a 1:1 copy or "port" of the Fan Fork, because that would be impossible anyway. CK3's scripting engine and hardcoded mechanics are so radically different from anything in CK2 that it's less a question of what we will keep and more a question of what we can salvage. Instead, we want AtE CK3 to be more like a remake or sequel of the CK2 mod.
We plan to build on the foundation laid by the Fan Fork, but we also won't be afraid to completely rework, replace, or even delete elements that we aren't happy with or that won't work in CK3. This applies to political setup, in-game history, and entire cultures or religions. Nothing is sacred, and nothing is safe. (Except Americanism. That stays.)
Our team has two main focuses at the moment - creating religions and faiths and building the map.
The Map
Our dedicated team of map modders have decided to challenge themselves by vastly expanding the scope of the in-game map. Here's an image of the current Fan Fork map...
The Fan Fork's map as of v1.1.
And here's an image of the planned CK3 projection.
Yep.
We're going all the way from the tip of Tierra Del Fuego to the northern shore of Alaska and everything in between. We even have Svalbard in the top right. (My mappers assure me that it makes sense, assuming a spherical Earth.)
As you might imagine, creating new cultures, religions, and histories for all of South America south of Venezuela is no small feat. That's why we've decided to partner with devs from the upcoming AtE South America spinoff, Sob o Anil. Their CK2 mod will still release as a standalone, but the content they have already developed will be used to shape AtE CK3's version of South America. This means, in effect, that Sob o Anil has become part of the Fan Fork's shared universe. (More on this later.)
Religions and Faiths
Let's move on to talking about religions and faiths. We are nowhere near done with this and probably won't be for at least another month, but we have laid a basic groundwork. Let's discuss the two top-level families that you are probably most anxious to hear about: the Antiquarian and Abrahamic families.
The Antiquarian family contains most of the religions that were part of the Old World Cultist religion group in the Fan Fork. This includes fan favorites like:
Americanism.
Foundrycraft (formerly Rust Cultist).
Atomicism.
Consumerism.
As you can see, each of these former CK2 religions have been spun off into faith groups under the Antiquarian family. This will let us more precisely control how these faiths view each other across groups and within groups. For example, Americanism and Libertarianism are generally okay with one another, while Atomicists and Aphites are... less okay with each other. You may have also noticed that each of these faiths have custom tenets - the new CK3 religious system will let us give each faith more depth than was possible in CK2 while also making it easier for different faiths to access similar features.
Now, let's talk about the Abrahamic family, starting with the Christian faiths. I won't be able to show them all off here, so I'll show you one of them with a list of other Christian faiths.
Wait, what?
Description:
When contact with Rome was lost, the Catholics of the Caribbean mostly retained their faith and did not recognize a new head. Instead, the various archdioceses began to administer the church according to their local authority an Insula, or island community, with their own rites. These rites, amounting to almost full canons, contain both functional law and local saints. Although they theoretically are pending approval by the Pope in Rome, they are treated as valid in his absence. Most lay practitioners trust that their bishops do their due diligence and consider their local traditions to be in line with mainstream Catholicism. Other Catholics would note that many Insular Christians venerate 'African saints' that are suspiciously similar to figures from other nearby religions.
Insular Christianity is a good example of the steps that we will take in CK3 to expand on the foundation laid in CK2. As mentioned above, CK3 lets us model interfaith relations with a level of subtlety and complexity that was not possible in CK2. We are taking advantage of this by, among other things, adding new forms of Christianity that "bridge the gap" between traditional Catholicism and faiths that are... less traditional.
On that note, I'd like to explain something about the faith assignments in CK3. The rigid nature of interfaith relationships in CK2 meant that we were sometimes forced to place certain religions outside of the "Christian" group, even though members of these religions would certainly identify as Christian. This is no longer an issue, and faiths will now be grouped (mostly) according to the self-identification of practitioners. For example, Mormons, who were assigned their own religion group in CK2, will now be part of the Christian faith group in CK3, with special doctrines controlling relations between Mormons and other Christians. The same applies to all former "Cult of Saints" religions and "Amero-Syncretic" religions - they will all be in the Christian faith group and will rely on special doctrines to govern interfaith relations.
However, certain Christian-adjacent faiths will still be placed in other groups and families for gameplay purposes and to better reflect self-identity. For example, Rastafari is assigned its own faith group, with each mansion now being a faith unto itself. This is because many Rastas identify themselves as either entirely separate from Christianity or as part of a group that is highly distinct from other Christians.
The Nyabinghi Order.
Similarly, many of the former Afro-Syncretic faiths have been placed in their own Afro-Syncretic family, with new faith groups being created to illustrate the differences between faiths in this family.
The Vodun faith group. Please don't make low-effort jokes about the tenet name.
Although many practitioners of these faiths would identify as Christian if asked, it is more accurate to say that they are both Christian and (for example) Candomble. They attend both Christian churches and Candomble houses, even though the Bible explicitly condemns many of the things that happen in Candomble houses. They respect both Christian bishops and Candomble maes-de-santo, even though the bishop may not accord any respect to a a mae-de-santo. They see each of their two beliefs systems as equally valid and may even believe that God and Olodumare are two terms for the same being, even though Christianity is officially antithetical to these ideas.
Unfortunately, CK3 does not let us assign two religions to the same person or the same county, so we had to draw a hard line between them. This line is mitigated by the existence of faiths like Insular Christianity, which is non-hostile to Afro-Syncretic faiths and is intended to be a middle ground between the two groups, but it still exists.
Of course, the Abrahamic group includes Islam and Judaism as well as Christianity. Here's a look at one of the Jewish faiths.
Reform Judaism.
Now that we have thoroughly covered the particulars of the Christian faith group, let's move on to discussing the changes we plan to make in our final major Fan Fork update.
The Final Fan Fork Update
Well, we had a good run, but my interests have moved from CK2 to CK3. CK3 is just so much more flexible for modders - going back to CK2 feels like reinstalling Windows XP. As a result, I've decided that the next Fan Fork update will be the final major update to the project. We may still release updates to fix bugs, but we won't add any new religions or cultures or anything like that. So, what's going to be in this update? I'll be releasing regular dev diaries about it, but I'd like to get something out of the way first.
After a discussion with the dev team of After the End: Old World, we have decided that it would be best for both of us to officially part ways. The Old World project has been fully independent from the Fan Fork from its very inception. I have never had any real input on what their team does, and vice-versa. We communicate very rarely, and it is usually not related to creative decisions. However, many members of the AtE community and the Crusader Kings community at large do not understand this. They frequently assume that the projects have the same or similar team members, they use features in one mod as a basis to suggest changes in the other, and they even conflate the two by simply referring to both as "After the End".
To that end, the Old World team has agreed to stop using the AtE name for its upcoming CK2 update and for any future CK3 project. All further development on Old World CK2, as well as any development for an Old World CK3, will diverge greatly from the Fan Fork and AtE CK3. Hopefully, this should cement our projects as being completely independent from one another.
Now that I have explained this, I would like to get into the first major changes we will make to the Fan Fork in our final update. We plan to overhaul all content regarding Atlantic invasions and overseas contact, to better reflect our own creative desires and to add more depth and variety to gameplay.
Invaders from Great Britain will no longer have a single British culture, nor will they adhere to just one religion. This will be explained further in an upcoming Fan Fork dev diary.
Taking the Atlantic path for the Hajj to Mecca will involve a stop in Tangiers rather than Gibraltar. Here, you will meet a Muslim Moroccan and travel overland across North Africa to Mecca.
A new invading force from Africa will be added. This will be explained further in an upcoming Fan Fork dev diary.
We will integrate mods other than Sob o Anil into the Fan Fork's shared universe. This will be explained further in an upcoming Fan Fork dev diary.
Finally, al-Sayyid has asked me to make a few specific announcements:
  1. Seminoles will be added to the Everglades in Florida.
  2. The Mouse will get a ton of new content, including unique artifacts and a religion conversion event.
That concludes this first dev diary for After the End CK3. I hope you are all looking forward to both it and the final Fan Fork update.

2020.09.24 18:10 Thomaz113 Cross cultural struggles

Hi all,
I (M20) found myself attracted to a awesome girl (F19). For some reason, we both wanted it to be serious. For the record, she is a moroccan muslim, while I am a dutch atheist. I don’t smoke though, I don’t eat pork, I could give up so much to follow as many Islamic guidelines as possible, but as I’m not a believer, I will probably never be halal.
I have been around muslims all my life. I know most of their rules, I participate a week in Ramadan each year, I respect muslims the same way I respect everyone else, perhaps I respect them even more.
She told me she really wanted to date. I know her mother and I know she would be at least kind of fine with a relationship, but as you could imagine, her father probably won’t be. She also said that her father is the only thing in the way
My mother won’t be having problems with me having a muslim gf. My grandparents may judge what they want, but I would not really care what they think of it.
I am trying to get it out of my head and to move on, but we both have a hard time moving on. Even though we both confessed our feelings, we still talk all the time and we both know we would be dating if the circumstances would be right. Would you guys think there may be a small chance that things could work out between us, or would you advice the both of us to move on?

2020.09.22 10:54 Nestrix17 I feel broken.

I feel like my will to keep getting back up is broken. Let me elaborate!
It all goes back to December of last year when I returned back home. I'm a third year history bachelor student and my second year was particularly hard. Thus I had returned home for christmas hoping to reset and go again. My mother, however is an alcoholic and those issues flared up during that time which having dealt with for years I had finally had enough of. Thus, I stood up to her and left home prematurely. I missed christmas and essentially started developing anxiety at the same time.
Fast forward to February. At that time I had been dating my now ex girlfriend for 8 months when she decided to break up with me as I had become very dependent on her and depressed. I had talked of going to therapy and moving to a new place, however none of that ever materialized. That lit a fire under my belly to get my life together. Thus I moved out into a new place, went into therapy and started working on mental issues.
I developed anxiety in April and throughout the spring I kept learning more and more about myself and my psyche such as that I had very clear and obvious issues with my parents as well as that I had a perfectionistic mindset that was geared towards making me feel like a failure. Eventually, I began doing mindfulness techniques to diffuse myself from negative thinking. It began to have a remarkable effect on me and for a few months I felt well. I made the decision to try again with my ex girlfriend as we had both missed each other dearly and in the fits of love we were blindsided to all the obvious flaws in our relationship.
This was in July. Fast forward to September and that is over. It is for the best. As part of my studies I have to take a language course in my second year. However, as my second year went rather sideways, I failed two fairly simple courses of Spanish. While signing up for courses this year, I left it to the last week. This meant that my first option of Spanish was full, and out of the other choices (Dutch, Moroccan Arabic, English, French and Portugese) I chose Moroccan Arabic. Bear in mind, I live in Holland and tried to get into the Dutch language, however I received no reply.
Now I am at a point where I have no motivation to learn Moroccan Arabic three weeks into it. I virtually have no chance of changing it and I'm staring down the barrel of doing 4 years for a bachelor's. While that's not necessarily a catastrophe I am required to do military or civil service for a year back home after my studies. However they believe that my studies will last 3 years. Thus, essentially I am staring down the barrel of having my bachelor' s by 25 (22 currently). My therapist is voluntary hence no compensation or proof of mental illness. Additionally I receive financial support from the Finnish government where I lived for 6 years (I'm Estonian by nationality). Thus, the Finnish government pays my studies, the Estonian one will expect me to do a year of service. The Finnish one doesn't know about my obligations to do a year of service.
Ultimately I'm just lost and the worst thing is I made the decisions to get here. It was all me and yet through everything I've learned in therapy I want to blame someone. I want to blame my parents for leaving me on my own for long stretches of time. I want to blame them for their own personal issues (emotionally unavailable father, alcoholic mother), I want others to see the struggle I go through and yet I'm laying in bed basically feeling as my will to go on has been broken. I don't know how to go on from here.
To give you an idea of the gravity of it, this is basically my second post on reddit in two years of having this app.
This is a messy post, but I wish whoever reads it a great day! "

2020.09.16 21:34 SoloTravelMods ANNOUNCEMENT: Upcoming AMA with Kyra from the No Country for Moving Podcast on SEPT. 23

Hello everyone! We are very excited to host solo-traveling badass Kyra for an AMA on Wednesday, September 23 (an earlier version of this had the wrong month, sorry!). Please see her introduction below:
Hello solotravel!
My name is Kyra, and I'm the 34 year old SOLO BLACK FEMALE traveler, who calls Brooklyn her home. Although these days, most of my travel has been stateside, I always aim to take a good walking tour along with a deep dive of the history of every space, city and locale that I frequent. I'm a passionate urbanist who enjoys creating spaces in the arts and culture with a social justice framework and through the elevation of unheard voices of marginalized communities.
Case in point, I started a podcast called @nocountryformoving. On my podcast, I interview immigrants and migrants from across the globe about their story, political and socio-cultural differences between their native country and their host country, and even what it's like to date outside of their culture!
What is driving this AMA is that I have been traveling solo since I was 20. First to my parent's motherland of Ghana, and then to countries such as Morocco, Argentina, Spain, Colombia, Ecuador, India, and the list continues! Each time I have traveled solo, I received similar responses from friends and family, " Are you traveling with friends? Why not choose another country to go to? Are you sure that is a good idea? And each time my response was adamant, "I'm going and I will be safe." Of course, sometimes I wasn't that safe or made the best decisions, but I learned from them, and one thing that I was very sure about was that I needed to share my story and experiences with whomever I could so I could become a resource to the community as well. As a single Black woman, there have been a lot of insurmountable obstacles that I have faced that should be shared and learned from and I'm ready and willing to do that with you!
My travel timeline for reference:
  • May-July 2008 - Ghana
  • April - August 2010- India
  • September 2010- July 2013 - Madrid, Spain
  • July 2013 - August 2016 - Buenos Aires, Argentina
  • Patagonia, Colombia, Ecuador April - October 2016
Highlights from the Kyra Tour
  • Running with the bulls twice in Pamplona and only falling asleep once
  • Getting lost in Las Fallas
  • Being denied entry on the Moroccan and Spanish border
  • Chamuyando (charming) my way back into Argentina after a return flight from America
  • Getting trapped on the Ecuadorian and Colombian border
  • Trapped in Buenos, Argentina due to a financial snafu
  • Bloodwork debacles in the era of Zika
  • Almost going to jail India
  • Malaria in Ghana
  • Falling in love in Buenos Aires/Patagonia
  • Psychotic bosses in NYC
Check out my travel content via:
Instagram
Facebook
Join me for the AMA and follow up by listening to my podcasts @nocountryformoving on iTunes and Spotify and follow on IG @nocountryformoving and Facebook for stories of immigrants, travelers, and people like you. When you do watch an episode, please #nocountryformoving and reference the episode as well as @kymab on IG.
Do not hesitate to ask me all of the questions, no matter how creepy or off-putting or uncomfortable. Since I'm gainfully fun-unemployed, I'm overeager to answer your questions. So get at me here, IG or Facebook.
PSA: I'm doing this AMA to dispel the myth that Black women do not travel and to provide an entrance into a door of a Black female travel experience. Representation matters!
PSA2: I'm open to collaborations in the future around my podcast, so slide into my DMs or PMs.
Fun Fact: this photo is my birthday weekend over a 10 ago prior to my bed bugs debacle in Essaouira, Morrocco.
We're going to start collecting questions now, so for anyone who's not sure they'll be able to make the AMA in real-time, please post your questions below and we'll move them over to the AMA on the day of.
In the meantime, you can check out Kyra's podcast here

2020.09.16 09:36 SugarDaddyMeetApp My Best Friend Is a Sugar Daddy. What Is That Like?

First, the numbers.
44: age of my best friend, John
150–200: number of women he has dated since August 1, 2016
2: average dates per week
9: most dates in one week
60: number of women he has slept within that time
48: his oldest partner
17: his youngest partner (her profile said she was 18, officer!)
$12,000–15,000: what John has paid these dates. I don’t mean the price of the outings, the meals and movies, and tanks of gas. I mean the — well, it goes by several names. Stipend. Allowance. Per-meeting cost. It is a strange lifestyle, one of transactional affection, torts and tickers, ships that pay in the night, dinner, and a movie not as foreplay but fee harvesting. My best friend is, in short, a sugar daddy.
Sugar daddies have been around for ages. The term is an amalgam of “sugar,” a slang term for money, and “daddy,” a reference to an older man, and it dates back to the 1920s. The last few years have seen a rise in interest in sugar culture. A Google search for “sugar daddy” turns up nearly 2 million results, with “sugar baby” yielding another 3 million.
Money is, of course, the cardinal rule, but not all sugar babies are Melania Trump types seeking pampering at the hands of billionaires. About half are working their way through college. Others are between jobs, struggling with debt, or simply interested in older men. Whatever their motives, sugar babies are having a moment.
It takes two to Venmo, however, and few writers seem interested in portraying sugar daddies as anything other than rich and powerful Bruce Wayne wannabees. John is not in his 60s. He is well-off but not wealthy. He doesn’t sit on corporate boards, have box seats at The Met, or own a tuxedo. The only person who paparazzos him is his mother. He got into sugaring, not for arm candy but to mitigate the risk of getting hurt (more on this later). He finds his babies on SeekingArrangement, the first and best-known sugar dating site, which was founded in 2006 and has over 3.5 million members, according to some sources.
He joined the site in 2016, and in a little less than two years, he has, in his words, “felt all the breasts — big, small, flabby, perky, fake, real.” Most of the women have been under 30. Many were under 25. He’s dated college students, single moms, middle-agers, and a married couple. Redheads, blondes, brunettes. Asian, African-American, German, Brazilian, British, Mexican, Moroccan, plain old Southern. A bartender, a biochemist, small business owners, exotic dancers, office workers, an engineer, a lawyer, a nanny, “between jobs.”
A fashion model.
A former Playboy bunny.
As with any dating, there have been ups and downs. One woman excused herself during dinner and never came back. One kept texting her father all night, including to ask him what she should order for her meal. One threw up on his bathroom floor. One got drunk, made a list of his flaws, and said she couldn’t wait to see how big his penis was. Some were into bondage, some into DDLG, and one in California still says she is in love with him. They have never met.

2020.09.12 04:40 Fantastic-Reply 7 of the 19 believed hijackers named are still alive.

Seven of the WTC Hijackers found alive!
Some of the men the FBI claims hijacked planes on Sept. 11 and crashed them into the World Trade Center in New York, the Pentagon, and Stony Creek Township, Pennsylvania are still alive.
No they weren't pulled from the rubble, they were never on the planes.
The FBI press release of September 2001 containing names, photographs, aliases and other information is seriously flawed. They have used these peoples names and made claims based on the fact they were pilots and other supposedly incriminating evidence and yet they were not involved. Places of birth, birthdays and other personal details were displayed on news throughout the world.
The FBI still lists these men as suspected hijackers who were killed during the terrorist assault, this is absurd. If this is the quality of the evidence they can present it is no wonder the public cannot see the rest.
Saeed Alghamdi, Mohand Alshehri, Abdul aziz Alomari, Salem Alhazmi
"It was proved that five of the names included in the FBI list had nothing to do with what happened." - Saudi Arabia's Foreign Minister Prince Saud Al-Faisal told the Arabic Press after meeting with President George W. Bush on Sept. 20th
Saudi officials at the embassy were unable to verify the whereabouts of the fifth accused hijacker, Khalid Al-Mihdhar. However, Arab newspapers say Al-Mihdhar is still alive.
Saeed Alghamdi, Mohand Alshehri, Abdul aziz Alomari and Salem Alhazmi "are not dead and had nothing to do with the heinous terror attacks in New York and Washington." The Saudi Arabian embassy told The Orlando Sentinel.

On Sept. 22, Associated Press reported that Alshehri had spoken to the U.S. embassy in Morocco. "He was reported to have been in Hollywood, Florida, for a month earlier this year but his father, Ahmed, said that Waleed was alive and well and living in Morocco." - Telegraph

"The name [listed by the FBI] is my name and the birth date is the same as mine, but I am not the one who bombed the World Trade Center in New York," Abdulaziz Alomari told the London-based Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper.
"Alomari has since been found in Saudi Arabia and is apparently cleared in the case" - New York Times

"I was completely shocked. For the past 10 months I have been based in Tunis with 22 other pilots learning to fly an Airbus 320. The FBI provided no evidence of my presumed involvement in the attacks." - Telegraph 23rd September 2001
"Asharq Al Awsat newspaper, a London-based Arabic daily, says it has interviewed Saeed Alghamdi." - BBC 23rd September 2001
"Abdel Aziz Al-Omari and Sad Hussein Gharamallah Al-Ghamdi, are well in life, the first in Saudi Arabia and the second in Tunisia for nine months." - Wal Fadjri 21st September 2001

Salem Alhazmi (Flight 77)
"Mr Al-Hamzi is 26 and had just returned to work at a petrochemical complex in the industrial eastern city of Yanbou after a holiday in Saudi Arabia when the hijackers struck. He was accused of hijacking the American Airlines Flight 77 that hit the Pentagon." - Telegraph 23rd September 2001
Ahmed Alnami (Flight 93)
"I'm still alive, as you can see. I was shocked to see my name mentioned by the American Justice Department. I had never even heard of Pennsylvania where the plane I was supposed to have hijacked." He had never lost his passport and found it "very worrying" that his identity appeared to have been "stolen" and published by the FBI without any checks. The FBI had said his "possible residence" was Delray Beach in Florida. " - Telegraph 23rd September 2001
Flight 11 (North Tower) The BBC has reported that the transcript of a phone call made by Flight Attendant Madeline Amy Sweeney to Boston air traffic controls shows that the flight attendant gave the seat numbers occupied by the hijackers, seat numbers which were NOT the seats of the men the FBI claimed were responsible for the hijacking.

2020.09.07 21:10 throvvavvay__ How to approach Tunisian girls and start dating for a foreigner

I'm Moroccan so I know all about the Muslim/arab culture and stuff, I'm insecure about my accent when I approach girls, I can have a normal conversation in Tunisian arabic but it shows that I'm not Tunisian which i guess can be a turn off or something that will make a girl hesitate
But I'm going to be here for another 2 years or so and I want to start dating and see where it goes, I'm interested in girls who are already working or soon to graduate so we can have mature conversations and I don't want to just stop someone on the street and talk to them (that's weird)
I have Tunisian friends who spam mesaage girls on Instagram and Facebook and to me that's childish and seems pitty tbh (i see the irony coming from a guy posting on reddit) anyway, are there any tips or places where i can meet smart girls with high standards and who are open minded and won't get uncomfortable when someone approaches them? I really considered forgetting about this since my Entourage isn't quite the gentlemen, everyone is playing games and i think it's on both sides, and i definitely don't want games, am i wasting my time or are there an tips?

2020.09.01 11:31 HauntedSpy SKs you never might've heard of: Europe

\Note: Since several countries overlap into Asia, I've decided to exclude some: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Cyprus, Georgia, Kazakhstan and Turkey will be in the* Asia post since most/all of their territory is there. Russia is an exception, as the majority of it is in Europe, and thus will be included in this post. In this post, I'll showcase a convicted or suspected SK in each country* on the European continent from a list I've been compiling about SKs around the world, which have yet to receive a Wikipedia entry. Each section will contain some info on their crimes, and a link/source from which I got it. I hope you'll find this as interesting as I do. Let us begin. ALBANIA: Sadik Kuniqi (2002; 4 victims) A delusional former soldier, he bludgeoned to death a friend and his wife in Shkodër in January 2002. Two months later, he repeated the action against another friend and his family, killing the man and his child, and almost killing the wife. In his diary, he claimed that his victims had attempted to kill him at least 33 times, and the murders were retaliatory. Sentenced to life imprisonment. ANDORRA: Joaquín Villalón Díez (1981/1992; 3 victims) The Gentleman Killer Spanish man who murdered and dismembered his lover with an electric saw in the Andorran town of Les Escaldes in 1981. Deemed mentally ill, he served time in a mental institution and released 10 years later. He returned to Madrid, Spain, where in the span of two weeks, he murdered two transsexuals: one died from third degree burns suffered from a fire, and the other was drowned in a bathtub. Imprisoned again, but released from the institution in 2013. AUSTRIA: Himberg serial killer (1997/2015; 3 victims) Hungarian national who murdered his girlfriend in his home country in 1997. Served time, moved to Austria, where he murdered a Slovak woman and his girlfriend in Himberg (the first in early 2015, and the other in October). His name has been withheld. Sentenced to life imprisonment. BELARUS: Lida serial killer (unknown-2020; 1-5+ victims) Only known by the name 'Yuri', he confessed to butchering and dismembering a woman in Tarnovo, Lida District, whose discarded remains were found on January 3rd this year. He confessed to a friend that there were at least five victims killed in a similar manner. Notably, he had previously been convicted for taking bus passengers hostage in 2003. Detained by police, his case is under investigation at the time of writing. BELGIUM: Steven Daubioul (2005-2013; 3 victims) A sex pest, he stabbed and strangled to death three women in Charleroi's Lodelinsart section while either high on drugs or to satisfy his sexual urges. In addition, he sexually assaulted a 5-year-old and had child pornography in his apartment when arrested. Sentenced to life imprisonment. BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA: Edin Gačić (1996-2019; 4 victims) A few months after the Bosnian War ended, he killed his roommate in Banja Luka. Convicted, served 8 years and released. While on parole in 2002, he went to his mother's apartment in Zenica, where he shot and stabbed her. Convicted in February 2003, he escaped in 2019, and in the span of a week, shot to death two men (one being a police officer) in Suhodol. Gunned down by authorities on February 12, 2019. BULGARIA: Georgi Dobryanov (1982-1985; 5+ victims) The Lozen Strangler Rapist who strangled at least five women around the Stolichnina Municipality, Sofia City Province. An innocent man was convicted for the first murder and served time in prison, and his case later caused changes in criminal law to prevent similar miscarriages of justice. Executed 1986. CROATIA: Srđan Mlađan (1998-2002; 3 victims) The Monster of Sisak Inspired to kill by movies such as Born To Kill, at the age of 15, he shot and killed a girlfriend with an automanic rifle. A little over a month later, he shot and killed an elderly neighbor with his father's rifle. He was arrested and served time, but was released in 2002 on parole. He then tried to rob a bank in Zagreb, shooting one of the arresting officers. Sentenced to 27 years imprisonment. Please Do Not Advise Me Just To End It! Let first start off with me, I am a 21 year old American convert from Michigan, I converted about 10 months before I got married and about one month before I met my future husband, he is 29 and he was born muslim and he is from Morocco, he is a permanent resident (before I met him) but not yet a citizen. He is currently a teacher and we both live in the south. We started talking 9 months before we actually got married but it was only online because we lived on opposite sides of the country. He flew to Michigan to meet me and my family and then brought me back with him to Texas and we got married. At first it was very hard because we were still getting to know each other and he started as a teacher and didn’t have a lot of free time, because of this, we didn’t have a lot of time to be together. He never took me out on dates or went to the store with me or anything, I do everything by myself which was fine because I was being understanding that it was for his job. Now he is in his second year and looking to be an actuary and that requires a lot of studying. He spend most of his time in his office and we currently are experiencing COVID also so it makes it hard, I am not working right now, I only stay home to cook and clean etc. I always do everything for him, get him anything he needs, he doesn’t have to lift one finger at home at all, I always do things to let him know I love him and make him feel special, we have an agreement about him paying the bills and I only buy things we need inside the home (not groceries) the only thing is that I just feel we have soooo many issues... He doesn’t do things at home to make me feel special, he has never gotten me gifts, he has only bought me flowers once because I asked him to, he doesn’t write notes for me or anything at all ever, we argue all the time and he has been abusive emotionally and physically, most of the time I try to explain to him how I am feeling he tells me I talk to much... We have had many conversations about what is wrong and I feel like he blames me a lot and nothing ever changes, each time he hurts me he says that he will not do it again but he still does, I always tell him I want to leave and go back to Michigan but he doesn’t take me seriously... also I talked to his family sometimes but his parents don’t speak English.. he doesn’t talk to my family ever unless I ask him to which he has once or twice... also one time I started to leave and he locked me out of the house for the night and wouldnt let me have any of my personal belongings so I had to sleep In my car, we have a lot of issues we need to work through and sometimes I question if he actually loves me or not but honestly I just need to know is this how Moroccan men are? Like what can I do to make him listen to me? How do Moroccan men treat their wives to show that they care? I’m not sure if we have too many cultural differences or maybe it’s just the way he is... and please read this and understand that arguments take two people and I have done a lot of things I shouldn’t have as well and I push his buttons sometimes so please don’t be biased, sometimes I swear and I can be short tempered and disrespectful but I am working on this, I said that we should go to counseling together but he says no and I just don’t know what to do, I feel I am falling out of love sometimes... what would you do in my situation? please give me any advice you have I appreciate it very much and please feel free to ask any questions for a better understanding of the situation!<br /> </div> submitted by <a href="?id=1601292509"> Significant_Light_87 </a> to <a href="?id=1601292468"> MuslimMarriage </a> <span><a href="?id=1601292625">[link]</a></span> <span><a href="?id=1601292610">[comments]</a></span></p> <hr /> <p>2020.08.25 21:02 <i style="color:green;">BobDucca</i> <b>Got my first Buff (no date) and a ‘65 Moroccan nickel [Evanston, IL]</b></p> <p> submitted by <a href="?id=1601292573"> BobDucca </a> to <a href="?id=1601292455"> metaldetecting </a> <span><a href="?id=1601292525">[link]</a></span> <span><a href="?id=1601292454">[comments]</a></span></p> <hr /> <p>2020.08.24 06:37 <i style="color:green;">sarcastic_drank</i> <b>Review of my Entire Solstice Scents Collection!!!</b></p> <p><div class="md">I think Solstice Scents has to be my favorite indie house I’ve tried so far. They were actually the first indie house I ever tried!<br /> A little background: My favorite format of their perfumes is the EDP. For some reason perfume oils don't work for me. I have over 40 of them, five of which are from SS, and none of them last for more than 2 hours. My skin just eats them up, so my ratings for the oils will be lower due to that.<br /> Let me know what you guys think of these as well, if you've tried them. I'm always curious to know how similar my experiences are to others!<br /> Now on to the reviews!<br /> ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~<br /> <strong>Amber Coeur (edp)</strong> - pure glowing amber. Resinous, sweet, slightly smoky. Excellent for layering and worn on its own. AMBER. Winter Collection<br /> <ul> <li>This one in interesting to me. Sweet and resinous, yet wearable all year round. It's warm and comforting, yet it also kinda smells like a glue stick so that’s that. it's starting to smell less and less glue like as it ages. Amber Coeur becomes a skin scent on me fairly quickly, within 3 hours, and when it does it becomes extra smoky, resinous and sticky. (6/10)</li> </ul> <strong>Conjure Dark (oil)</strong> - amber, fankincense, sweet incense smoke, dried rose petals, sandalwood, vetiver, woods, oud, vanilla. AMBERESINS/INCENSE. General Catalog. <br /> <ul> <li>Almost pure smoky incense on me. I’ve noticed my skin loves to amp up the incense SS uses. There is a woodiness to it, which is most likely the oud/sandalwood I’m smelling. Sadly I get no rose or vanilla. And thankfully no vetiver. I have found that I'm not the biggest vetiver fan. (7/10)</li> </ul> <strong>Crimson Sap and Sassafras (edp) -</strong> dragon's blood, sassafras, palo santo, anise, frankincense, marshmallow, benzoin, vanilla cream soda, crimson musk. RESINS/INCENSE/DARK GOURMAND. Summer Collection.<br /> <ul> <li>What an interesting one this was. I hated it a first. Something in this perfume went dust on me. Pure dust. So I left it to age for about 8 months now, and it’s wonderful. Super incensey with this underlying sweetness from the marshmallow and cream soda. It also has this minty toothpaste/menthol vibe going on. I get no rootbeer at all from this which I'm kinda sad about. And holy hell does it project for the first hour. (7/10)</li> </ul> <strong>Foxcroft Fairgrounds (oil) -</strong> cotton candy, cream soda, vanilla taffy, funnel cakes, powdered sugar, crisp fall air, woodsmoke, incense. DARK GOURMAND/INCENSE/EARTHY. General Catalog.<br /> <ul> <li>This is a love/hate perfume. I love the gourmand notes. It's sweet and sugary in the opening, which is 100% the cream soda, but something smells like freshly mowed grass. And sadly I don’t like to smell like grass. Even resting it for almost two months has done nothing to get rid of whatever note that is, which I'm guessing is the 'crisp fall air'. (3/10) </li> </ul> <strong>Gibbons Mischief Night (edp) -</strong> sugar cookies, vanilla frosting, white chocolate popcorn, toasted marshmallow, graham crackers, Gibbon's Boarding School, cream Soda, bourbon, pear brandy. GOURMAND/WOODY. Fall Collection.<br /> <ul> <li>I really like this one. It starts of super sweet. You can smell the white chocolate popcorn, and the vanilla, and marshmallow. I don't smell any sugar cookies, graham crackers or pear brandy. Just sweet sugary white chocolate popcorn and vanilla frosting. Then it takes a turn and goes woody a few hours in, which I’m assuming is Gibbon’s Boarding School. (8/10)</li> </ul> <strong>Manor (oil) -</strong> woody-vanilla musk, vanilla, agarwood (Oud), sandalwood. WOODY/VANILLA MUSK. General Catalog.<br /> <ul> <li>This one I'm really sad about because I can't smell it. It is so faint on me. What I can smell I do really like. It’s a woody, musky vanilla. (4/10 but would be an 8/10 if it was stronger)</li> </ul> <strong>Owl Creek Aleworks (oil and edp) -</strong> *REFORMULATED 2020* - toffee pudding, vanilla, caramel, toasted coconut & hazelnut, sugared pumpkin cream stout. GOURMAND. General Catalog.<br /> <ul> <li>I bought this as an oil and loved it so much I went and bought the EDP when it came back in stock. This is spicy, sweet, rich and creamy. You smell like a wonderful caramelized fall desert. (10/10)</li> </ul> <strong>Postprandial (edp) -</strong> vanilla, irish cream, coffee, chocolate, bourbon, pipe tobacco. GOURMAND/LIQUEUTOBACCO. Winter Collection. <br /> <ul> <li>Another really great gourmand from SS. This starts off smelling chocolaty and rich. You get the irish cream and the vanilla. And the coffee peaks through. It smells like a hot cup of coffee with a ton of Baileys and chocolate syrup. I can’t pick up the tobacco and the bourbon specifically, but I'm sure they're there in the background supporting everything else. (10/10)</li> </ul> <strong>Rose Custard Kulfi (edp) -</strong> rosewater, saffron, cardamom, coconut vanilla custard, caramelized sugar, dates, pistachios, lime zest. GOURMAND/FLORAL. Summer Collection.<br /> <ul> <li>I don't like this one. Something about it makes me nauseous. The rosewater comes off as powdery to me. I don't get any dates, pistachios, caramelized sugar or coconut vanilla custard. No saffron or cardamom, just lime zest. Baby powdery rose and lime zest. It's been resting for 4 weeks now but I'm going to give it a lot more time to hopefully come around. (1/10)</li> </ul> <strong>Rose Mallow Cream (edp) -</strong> moroccan rose absolute, bulgarian rose absolute, marshmallow fluff, strawberry nectar, white chocolate, vanilla, white musk. GOURMAND/FLORAL. General Catalog.<br /> <ul> <li>This is really good. The rose is slightly powdery, think powdered sugar and not baby powder. The marshmallow is super fluffy, and the vanilla really adds to that. The musk is soft and barely notifiable for me, as well as the strawberry nectar and white chocolate. I feel like those help to add to the sweetness of this perfume and help it to not be super loud and upfront. A beautiful light and airy sweet rose and vanilla. (9/10)</li> </ul> <strong>Sea of Gray (edp) -</strong> vanilla rain, saltwater, seaweed, ambergris (vegan), white amber, roasted seashells, white sandalwood, frangipani. AQUATIC/GOURMAND/VANILLA. General Catalog. <br /> <ul> <li>This is a super confusing perfume for me. It's changed about 5 times in the past few weeks. First it was all sea weed and brine. Then the vanilla peaked out a bit. Then it really came out. Then after that the seaweed and brine started coming back, along with what I assume is roasted seashells. And now it kinda smells like raw spinach and salt with a hint of fish and vanilla. The fish goes away after it dries down and I'm left with freshly washed spinach/greens of some sort and vanilla ice cream. I can't say that I don't like it because that's not true. I actually enjoy it a lot strangely. After a few hours the 'green' notes leave and it's a sweet vanilla. What a weird perfume. Definitely needs more resting. (5/10 for now).</li> </ul> <strong>Snowmint Mallow (edp) -</strong> peppermint, vanilla cake, sugar cookies, flaked coconut & marshmallow crème. GOURMAND. Winter Collection.<br /> <ul> <li>I love Snowmint Mallow. It's vanilla and peppermint at the start. There is definitely coconut in this one. It adds a creamy kinda nutty vibe to it. And the marshmallow creme adds the perfect amount of fluffiness and creaminess to it. It has this coldness to it from the peppermint which makes it surprisingly refreshing to wear during the summer. It kinda reminds me of those big soft peppermints mixed with coconut and marshmallow. One of my absolute favorites from SS. (10/10)</li> </ul> <strong>Snowshoe Pass (edp) -</strong> white amber, white musk, vanilla accord, peppermint cream, cold winds. VANILLA MUSK/WOODY. Winter Collection.<br /> <ul> <li>Another absolute love from SS. This is a cold peppermint and vanilla that settles nicely on top of a bed of musk. I don't think I smell any amber in this, because truthfully I don't actually know what white amber smells like soooooo. Snowshoe Pass is a lovely vanilla peppermint musk. (10/10)</li> </ul> <strong>Solstice Magnolia (edp) -</strong> lemon-magnolia ice cream, sugar cone, hawaiian sandalwood, honeysuckle, thumbprint cookies with quince jam, unsweetened iced black tea<br /> <ul> <li>For me Solstice Magnolia opens with a super realistic magnolia and a lemon ice cream. It doesn't specifically say that the ice cream is vanilla based but I think it is. At least it smells that way. Or it might be the waffle cone that has this creamy vanilla scent to it. The lemon fades a bit but the magnolia stays strong. The dry down is creamy vanilla ice cream with fresh magnolia blooms. I surprisingly like this one. And it wears really well in the heat too. (8/10)</li> </ul> <strong>Winslow’s (oil) -</strong> rows of christmas trees, clove studded oranges, bayberry tapers, handcrafted wreaths & mistletoe. SPICY/CONIFEWOODY. Winter Collection.<br /> <ul> <li>I am a big fan of the way my house smells during christmas. I think it's the smell of the tree mixed with the cold air. This is christmas tree in a bottle. Super strong fipine scents and a slight spiciness from the clove with a teeny tiny bit of orange to cut through the heaviness of everything else. I would not suggest this if you don't like pine or fir trees. For me it's a winner except for the lasting power. Curse my skin and it's inability to hold oils! (7/10)</li> </ul> ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~<br /> That's all of them! I currently have Estate Vanilla on the way which I'm super excited for. I've been waiting over a year to try it and I'm finally able to get my hands on it!<br /> I hope you enjoyed the reviews!<br /> </div> submitted by <a href="?id=1601292472"> sarcastic_drank </a> to <a href="?id=1601292394"> Indiemakeupandmore </a> <span><a href="?id=1601292402">[link]</a></span> <span><a href="?id=1601292394">[comments]</a></span></p> <hr /> <p>2020.08.23 17:15 <i style="color:green;">Mathiousse</i> <b>Expatriating to Canada after high school</b></p> <p><div class="md">Hey, first time poster here, i post here asking for advice / information about expatriating to Canada, here are informations about us: - im 16, i have french citizenship, and i’ll be starting my last year of high school this september - my boyfriend is 18, an immigrant in france, has canadian and moroccan dual citizenship, and is in the same grade as me - we’ve been dating since november 2019 and have been living together with my parents since march 2020 because of covid-19 and will probably continue to live together for the next school year - we’re in a serious relationship and are considering to move to canada together after graduating - i want to work in programming, so i would probably need to go to college for that, but for now it’s not entirely decided - for now my boyfriend doesn’t plan on continuing education after high school, and doesn’t know what he wants to work in but has a lot of different ideas like working with animals, art or graphic design, agriculture, starting a small business or cafe to list a few. - my boyfriend can acquire permanent residency in canada and sponsor me so i get permanent residency as well, so how we’re getting there isn’t much of a concern - my boyfriend would be willing to work a random job to pay for necessities if i go to college - neither of our parents are wealthy but my parents probably have a higher budget considering my boyfriend’s parents live in morocco - as for places to live, we’re considering calgary and montreal because according to research they’re pretty affordable to live in<br /> What would be your advice to expatriate there in our situation? how do colleges work with expatriated students?
